Our first grade staff would like to thank all the families who attended our reunion earlier this week. It’s so nice to be able to catch up and see how the beginning of our students summer is going. We are going to miss all of you next year but know you will have a fantastic year in second grade.

Our first grade teachers would like to give a reminder about our reunion picnic TOMORROW!

It is for our most recent group of first grade students- a fun and final event, before they become second graders!

‼️☔️This event WILL take place even if it rains. If it is raining, we will be in the large sheltered area with picnic tables. We will bring games, you can bring food, and everyone can socialize!

In the event that we have to cancel due to lightning and a bad storm, we will update on our page!

We can’t wait to see you there! 😍

Wonderful summer resource for families in need!

Thanks to Washington Morgan Community Action, summer meals are available for those who need them. Attached you can find multiple pick-up sites in the image, but the Marietta site is listed below.

Monday–Friday

Breakfast items and weekend meal packs will also be available.

To help organizers prepare enough meals each day, families are encouraged to call ahead at 740-373-3455 by 8:00 a.m. or the day before pickup.

Huge thank you to those that provide this much needed service to families in our community.

Congratulations to kindergarten! They were able to reach their PAX ticket goal for the month of May! The goal was 212 tickets and they earned 381 for the month of May. Popsicles were the reward! (Since field day was the same day they may or may not have eaten multiple popsicles on this day!😆)

What an end to the year! Our students enjoyed beautiful weather for all of their outside activities which included: tug of war, cup stacking, parachute bouncing, duck duck splash, wet sponge bucket relay races and so much more. These students even had a DJ in the afternoon. We can’t thank our staff, PTO and parents enough because made this day day possible.

In fact, our field day was so much fun that it can’t be contained in a single Facebook post. So we are going to give you a preview and post here and an album after we are finished sorting all of the photos. Hope you enjoy the smiles as much as we did. 😀☀️

It has been so amazing to watch these second graders grow and change over the last 3 years! Although we are sad to say goodbye, we are excited to see the students they will become as they continue on their journey at MES.

After a long day of field day fun, our kindergarten and first grade students were excited to clap out our second graders at the end of their final day with us at Phillips!

Also, our retirees were included in the clap out, too: Ms. Burton, Mrs. Gardener, and Nurse Tonja!

It was a bittersweet day for us Friday. We had so much fun coming together to celebrate the retirement of three of our favorites, Cindy Burton, Lisa Gardner and Tonja Cullen. We spent lunch, presenting them with special gifts and presentations that hopefully conveyed just how much they mean to us here at Phillips. We will miss them so much, but we are excited for them to all enjoy their retirement.

We wish the weather would have been better and we could have had our picnic outside, but we packed the gym for our Kindergarten family picnic to close the year. We loved getting to know these students this year and look forward to spending the next two years watching them grow!
