Mariaville Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department - Maine Fire Department The Mariaville Volunteer Fire Department began as “castles in the air,” when concerned citizens dreamed of having a local fire department.

By 1978 they were ready to begin to put “foundations” under their dreams. On May 15 a small group gathered at the Mariaville Town Hall to discuss their ideas with state forest rangers Foster Gray and Rodney Grant.

Today and every day…

We remember our brothers and sisters that stood in the face of fear and ran towards it with bravery and courage.

We remember the families and children whose lives were forever changed.

We remember the community that came together against all odds.
