Come out and join us this coming Tuesday, November 11th at Madison Street Park at 10:00 am to celebrate our Veterans. Afterwards, let's line Lafayette Street with cheers and waving American Flags for the Veteran's Day Parade. Early release day for students- bring them downtown to make this special for our vets!

Last night, the Jackson County Board of County Commissioners proudly recognized this year’s Citizens Academy Class of 2025! Over the past several months, these dedicated residents have gone behind the scenes of local government, learning how each department works FOR Jackson, FOR Future, FOR You.

This year’s class represented a record level of engagement, and we couldn’t be more proud of their curiosity, commitment, and community spirit. From road projects to public safety, utilities to community services, these citizens invested their time to understand how their local government serves every corner of Jackson County.

The countdown on our website reflects that we are 292 days away from our next county-wide election. We have had several citizens drop by the office this week asking if we had an election this year. We do not. No elections until 2026. I appreciate the interest and eagerness to cast your ballot... keep that same eagerness in 2026!

Had the opportunity to attend a Candidate Workshop in Flagler County on Tuesday. 31 SOE offices were represented. Thank you to Kaiti from Flagler County for hosting and providing this outstanding opportunity to learn and grow. As we gear up for another election year, the information shared will be very helpful to improving our candidates’ experience.

Attention Graceville Residents and Baptist University Students- we will be on campus tomorrow, Thursday, October 16th from
9:30 am - 12:00pm accepting new registrations, updated registrations, and requests for Vote-By-Mail applications. Also, if you would like to be a poll worker, we will happy, very happy, to take an application for that as well. Come see us at the student center.

Speaking of Students - Happy Birthday to the 20 students who turned 18 and because they were pre-registered, they are all set to vote in the next election.

Our Student Voter Outreach continued this week with stops at Cottondale High School (sorry no picture), Hope School and Malone School. We continue to be impressed with students across the county and how well behaved and attentive they are. One more high school then off to college we go...Chipola and Baptist University of Florida in Graceville.
