Hurricane season is here, and a little preparation can make a big difference.

With support from FPL, more than 150 hurricane preparedness meal kits were distributed today to members of the Northwest Focal Point Senior Center. Each kit helps provide three days' worth of shelf-stable food, water, and snacks for residents to have on hand when they need it most.

We’re proud to support our senior community as they get ready for the season ahead!

Are you ready for a Margate tradition?

Our annual Fourth of July celebrations kick off at 9 a.m. on July 4 with a parade down Margate Boulevard from Northwest 76th Avenue east to Northwest 58th Avenue at the Clock Tower. Immediately following the parade, refreshments — including hot dogs, chips, and soda — will be available.

Rock Island Road between Atlantic Boulevard and Northwest 18th Street will be closed starting at 9 a.m. until the parade passes.

Don't forget about our pool party at Calypso Cove at 1 p.m. The party continues with live music at State Road 7 and Margate Boulevard starting at 5 p.m., with the best fireworks show in town at 9 p.m.
