Box 9-1: Motor vehicle accident.
June 13, 2026

Station 9 (Mardela) was dispatched to a reported MVC with injuries on Rt 50 Eastbound @ Delmar rd.

Paramedic B9 arrived on scene and found one vehicle through the gaurd rail and off the road into the ditch. Command 9 arrived on scene Chief 9 (Allensworth) established the Command. Rescue Engine 906 established a safety zone for EMS crews. Ladder 5 (Hebron) assumed a blocking position. 3 people were in the car and miraculously there were no injuries. Car 9 arrived on scene for traffic control. The scene was turned over to Maryland State Police.

All units returned to service without incident.

Station 9 (Mardela) was dispatched to a reported MVC with injuries on Rt 50 @ Delmar rd.

Paramedic A9 arrived on scene. One vehicle into the back of 18 wheel sludge truck. Rescue Engine 906 arrived on scene. Deputy Chief Donohoe in command. Truck 5 (Hebron) assumed a blocking position. One person was transported to tidal health with minor injuries. Car 9 arrived on scene for traffic control. The crew of RE906 made the scene safe until the vehicle was removed. The scene was turned over to Maryland State Police.

All units returned to service without incident.

The Mardela Springs Volunteer Fire Company is accepting sealed bids on the following apparatus:

Tanker 905

1988 4 Guys Tanker
• Cummins Diesel Engine
• Spicer Manual Transmission
• 4,000-Gallon Aluminum Water Tank
• American LaFrance/Godiva Front-Mount 1,000 GPM Pump
• Current Mileage: 19,934.8

The apparatus has successfully passed a DOT inspection within the past year, with no major deficiencies noted.
The unit has been well maintained and remains in service at the time of this posting. The tanker will be sold "AS IS" with no warranty expressed or implied.

The Mardela Springs Volunteer Fire Company reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Interested parties are encouraged to inspect the apparatus prior to bidding. Arrangements to view the unit can be made by contacting the department.

On Saturday June 6th Mardela Springs Vol. Fire Company completed our annual Vehicle Rescue Day. Special Thanks to Res-Q-Jack for assisting and showing us the apex-x struts and the Xdrive. The Xdrive is new and our rep had the only one in the country. We all learned something new.
Thank you to Vienna Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. for joining us. Its always good to see old friends.
Thank you to the ladies auxiliary for breakfast and lunch. Without you the day would have been much shorter.
Work horses of the day were Captain Dustin Maddox and Cadet Bryce Brown. Strong work gentlemen. It was hot and everyone was exhausted by the end but as usual we persevered for a great day of learning.

As the winter storm approaches we are expecting snow, rain, and ice, followed by bitter cold. The next few days are going to be dangerous. Please plan accordingly. Check on your elderly neighbors. Prepare for ice on porches and walkways. AVOID TRAVELING if at all possible. DO NOT use portable generators indoors. Don't use heaters that are not approved for indoor use. If you experience a fire or medical emergency dial 911. After the storm ends its still not safe to move about. Allow crews time to clean up the mess.
Stay indoors, stay warm and be safe.

Box 9-3: Motor vehicle accident.
January 18, 2026

At approximately 0900 hours, Station 9 (Mardela) was dispatched to a reported MVC with injuries on Rt 50 in the west bound lane.

Paramedic A9 arrived on scene to find a vehicle off the road. Rescue Engine 906 arrived on scene. Lt Scott Sier (921) in command. There were no injuries. Engine Tanker 904 arrived on scene and staged as the blocking unit. The crew of RE906 made the scene safe and it was turned over to MSP.

All units returned to service without incident.
