Some updates for Wednesday into Thursday. 
Highway… we will be hot paving the driveway ends on the Woodlawn drain project we did in July. The crew prepared them for tomorrow. Our road tractors are still out road side mowing and the big arm is doing guard rails and back side of ditches.
We completed sweeping the loose stone off of Ritchie, Powell and Toby in preparation for some micro pave. We also have swept Jones, Carey and Candella express for a chip seal.
Our Sanitation crew is a bit behind from having Monday off. It’s steel week so the crew is using Highways help too.
Oneida county DPW will be repaving Fox as soon as they can. Please realize with the late state budget pass it put a lot of municipalities 2 months behind. Pretty much we’re all at the mercy of the weather and when it’s go time. Have a great night! ✌️

Reminders!! Our Town is closed Monday for the Labor Day Holiday.
Sanitation will be doing double runs on Tuesday. Your sanitation might be earlier or later than normal. Please have all your garbage/recycling to the curb by 6am. Also remember it’s steel week!!
As the fall approaches you MUST have all your leaves in CLEAR bags. NO black bags will be collected. We also don’t pick up loose curbside leaves.
Also remember weekly chipping of brush ends October 30th.
Highway. We will be doing odds and ends finishing up a big project behind our town barn. We will be preparing Carey, Jones and Candella express for some road treatments.
I’ve had questions about Fox road. The county is inline for paving. It should be very soon. Understand between the weather and huge projects in the area it’s put everyone behind. Have a great Labor Day!

With our sand up we will be back to road work. Shoulders on Ray and Kennedy. We’re waiting on the guide rail crew to come in on Kennedy.
Toby- Ritchie- Powell will be swept of loose 1a stone in the spots that pumped emulsion with the heat. We will be Micro paving these spots to seal off the affected areas. Thanks to our vendor Suit-Kote for coming back and taking care of it!

Our mix is up for the winter! We will draw a little in to restock but we’re good to go. Believe it or not we used to go through about 12000 tons of sand. Now with our building, our computers calibrated by the NYSDOT and a great mix with salt we have cut it down to 5500 tons a season. Dry product and with the help of setting up our trucks,it’s greatly saved product and clean up in the spring.

It’s a quiet week for road work as our crew is putting up our sand/salt for this coming winter operations. We took delivery of our 2024 Mack from Tracey road yesterday! 1 down, 2 to go. Our other 2 are being built in New Jersey at Henderson. We’ll be ready for whatever Mother Nature tosses at us this season!!

For the last 5 yrs we have been fortunate enough to be able to use the State shared landing for all our aggregates needed to mix our cold pave. Ever since we had our new Materials storage building built we’ve been transforming our scrap dirt area into a lot that we can cleanly house all our materials needed for road work. It will also sustain a mixing area in case we ever lose our shared services area. OUR crews get it done!

🚛 The Town of Marcy is now taking applications for a CDL Class B Driver!

We’re looking for a dependable person to join our Sanitation Department. You’ll work with a partner and should have basic mechanical knowledge, including oil changes, greasing, and routine equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

* Valid CDL Class B license
* Basic mechanical knowledge
* Willingness to work in all weather conditions
* Dependable and able to work as part of a team

Work Schedule:
☀️ Summer: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM — four 10-hour days
🍂❄️ Fall/Winter: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

FYI. Fox road had 1.8 miles milled off today. If all goes smooth the remaining will be completed tomorrow . Expect minor delays. Please watch for many trucks and the flagging crew!
