I am proud to announce the New York State Assembly has passed bill A.11350, legislation I introduced which will increase access to the State's Enhanced STAR Benefit program.

Each year, many otherwise eligible seniors miss-out on this opportunity for vital financial relief, often due to unexpected health issues, family circumstances, genuine eligibility confusion, or difficulties within the application process, and as a result, face unnecessary hardship and financial strain. This legislation would offer these individuals reprieve by providing for one-time retroactive application extensions for qualifying individuals, ensuring our seniors do not have to wait another calendar year to utilize this much-needed benefit.

Today is and the start of , a time to recognize and to thank all of our hardworking farmers who nourish our communities day-in and day-out.

With over 3,000 dairy farms and 630,000 milk cows producing more than 16 billion pounds of milk each year, dairy is our state's largest agricultural sector. So lets raise a glass of milk, a bite of cheese, or maybe even a scoop of ice cream to the hard working dairy farmers who make it all possible!
