Town of Marcellus Recreation Winter Recess Field Trips 2023

Looking for something to keep you busy over February break? Marcellus Parks and Recreation Department has some field trips planned for you and your friends. All Bus trips will leave from (and return to) the back of The Town Hall, 22 East Main Street in Marcellus. Sign up online through Community Pass or visit the Recreation Office to register by Friday, February 17, 2023. Trips fill up fast, so don’t wait to register we can only take a limited number!

Rosamond Gifford ZOO at Burnet Park in Syracuse – Wednesday, February 22, 2023 Grades 1-7

Join your friends and enjoy the ZOO. See the new elephant twin boys from 11-11:30 at the Pachyderm Pavilion viewing windows. Be sure to dress warm bring hat, mittens, a water bottle and snack. Includes lunch at the Honey Bee Cafe your choice of Turkey Sandwich(T), Hoffmann Hot Dog(H) or Personal Pizza(P) all with a side and drink. Bus leaves: 10:00 am Bus returns at: 2:00pm Fee: $15.00



Laser Tag at The Fun Warehouse in Fairmount – Thursday, February 23, 2023 Grades: 2-7

Grab your friends and enjoy unlimited games of Laser Tag at The Fun Warehouse in Fairmount. Be sure to bring extra money for arcade games in between games and bag lunch or snack and water bottle. The arcade games range from .25-$1 and money can be loaded onto a game card which is used to play the games. The Fun Warehouse has soda, water and candy only to purchase. Bus leaves: 11:30am Bus returns at: 3:30pm Fee: $25.00



Bowling at Marcellus Lanes – Friday, February 24, 2023 Grades 1-7

Get together with your friends and have lunch and bowl a couple of games. Includes pizza, drink, shoe rental and 2 games. Any extra games are just $3.75 per person more. Drop off and pick up is at Marcellus Lanes 4325 Slate Hill Rd. Drop off: 12:00pm Pick up 2:00pm Fee: $15.00

Happy New Year! Registration is now open for some of our 2023 activities! You can now register for Winter Wrestling Camp and Chair Yoga with Diane Zarzecki! Follow the link to register and starting on Tuesday January 3 registration will be open for 2023 Pavilion rentals in Marcellus Park!

We would like to congratulate Helen Stevens on her retirement from the Town of Marcellus. Helen has served the town in different rolls for over 54 years! She worked as the book keeper and then moved into the assessors office part time. when she originally retired from her full time position. Helen is a wealth of knowledge and is a huge help to homeowners especially our senior population to make sure they had all their paperwork in for their star exemptions! She will be greatly missed and we wish her the best! The meeting room in the new town hall has been named the Helen Stevens meeting room!
SUe Dennis will also be retiring as Deputy Town Clerk. She will be taking Helen’s position in the assessors office. Sue was a huge help to all the employees in the town hall helping get our new building organized and was always willing to go the extra mile for the town residents!
Sandy Elsey from the recreation department has accepted a job with another municipality. Sandy provided quality programming amd enjoyed working with the youth and adults of Marcellus and partnering with the community to make Marcellus a great place to live.

Wow! What a great turnout Saturday night at the Marcellus Chamber of Commerce Haunted Park event! Thanks to the Chamber for organizing a great event! A huge thanks to our park crew that helped with setup and cleanup and keeping the bonfire and smores going! Rick Martinez is Captain Jack for Hire CNY was amazing and we can't wait to have him back next year! Also big shout out to the Friends of Marcellus Park for volunteering their time and all their hard work!
