Twenty-five years later, we remember. 🇺🇸

Today, the Village of Marblehead joins communities across the nation in remembering those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and honoring the first responders and others who answered the call to help. We will never forget.

The Park District of Ottawa County 2026 Outdoor Hiking Challenge features 14 destinations across the county, and there are two right here in Marblehead: the Lakeside Daisy State Nature Preserve and Marblehead Lighthouse State Park.

Complete 9 of the 14 destinations between September 8 and November 30 to finish the challenge. Along the way, you might discover a new favorite spot or revisit one you haven’t explored in a while. It’s a great way to get outside and experience more of what Ottawa County has to offer!

The former Kelley's Island Lime & Transport Company hospital in Marblehead. Built from 1914-1915, the facility served quarry employees and local residents. It was later converted into company offices. Though long vacant, it still stands today as a reminder of Marblehead’s rich quarry history!

Good news at Marblehead Lighthouse State Park...they will have fall programs after Labor Day. More details with times in their post below.

We can’t believe it’s almost Labor Day!
The summer flew by!

Typically, Labor Day marks the end of our lighthouse tour season- but this year we have decided to open for tours on the weekends throughout September and a few days in October leading up to our Lighthouse Festival on October 10th

Stop by for a tour on Saturdays & Sundays after Labor Day - open 12:00pm-4:00pm.

Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society will have their museums and gift-shop open as well!

We’ve got a few weekly naturalist programs on the schedule for September as well!

Thursdays:
Naturalist- guided birding at the top of the lighthouse with binoculars and spotting scope!
3:00pm - 4:30pm

Sundays:
Naturalist-guided hike throughout the park and on our wooded trail, followed by a tour to the top of the lighthouse!
9:30-10:30am
