We were out last evening assisting Rudd Fire with a house fire in Rudd.

The Rudd Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed house fire last night. Nora Springs Farm & Fire, Rockford Fire Dept, Floyd Volunteer Fire Department, Marble Rock Fire Department, Osage Fire Department, Floyd County Search & Rescue, Floyd County Sheriff's Office - IA, and Floyd County Iowa Emergency Management Agency provided mutual aid on the scene. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the residents who provided cool drinks to the firefighters!

The Bradford Street bridge will be closed starting Tuesday, June 2nd for an estimated 3 weeks to replace the approaches. Our response to western areas of the county may be slightly delayed during this closure. Please obey all road closed signs and follow the marked detours during this closure.

We were out earlier this morning assisting Rockford Fire with a house fire in Rockford. There were no injuries but the home is a total loss. Other agencies assisting on scene were Nora Springs Fire, Rudd Fire, Floyd County Search & Rescue, AMR Ambulance, Floyd County Sheriff's Office, Rockford Municipal Light Plant, and Rockford Public Works Department.

Keep an eye on the weather tonight everyone. We have been placed under a Tornado Watch until 1AM Monday(5/18). Stay safe!

Tornado watch is now in effect for parts of north central Iowa until 1 am tonight (5/18/2026). Storms currently east of Sioux Falls may clip the far northern portions of the watch area. Additional storms moving into east central Nebraska will move into Iowa over the next few hours and pose a damaging wind an tornado threat as they move east/northeast into west central and northwest Iowa. A watch expansion further south may be required as those storms approach.

We were called to a semi tractor on fire earlier this afternoon. Upon our arrival the cab of the semi was fully involved in fire. Quick suppression efforts contained the fire to the truck and prevented damage to surrounding buildings and camper. The semi tractor is a total loss.

We are now under a TORNADO WARNING until 9:15PM tonight(5/15). SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY!

We are now under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 9PM tonight(5/15). We could be in for several rounds of storms so move inside and take shelter for now.

We have been placed under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1AM Saturday(5/16). Stay weather aware as we head through the evening. All modes of severe weather will be possible. Stay safe everyone!
