KEY WEST SWEEP 2026!
FKMCD Field Inspectors from across the county converge on Key West this week for an annual ‘Sweep’ of all city properties.
The two person teams only need a couple of minutes to find and eliminate mosquito habitats at a time when Dengue Fever cases are being reported in record numbers elsewhere in Florida.

FL Keys Mosquito Control District has scheduled an Aerial Granular Larvicide Mission over: Key West, NAS Key West, Rockland, Big Coppitt, Upper Sugarloaf, Summerland, Ramrod, Big Torch, Little Torch, Big Pine, Boot, Vaca, Crawl, Grassy, Upper/Lower Matecumbe, Plantation, Lower Key Largo.
An Aerial Granular Larvicide treatment utilizes a Biologic product called Bti which is derived from a soil bacterium. It is used to kill mosquito larvae in water before they emerge.

Island: Key West
FL Keys Mosquito Control District has scheduled an Aerial Liquid Larvicide Treatment using the biologic product, Bti over the Island of Key West FRIDAY morning.
Aerial Liquid Larvicide is usually applied after a significant rain and helps prevent aedes aegypti and other mosquito larvae from emerging as flying adult mosquitoes. Bti ONLY effects mosquito larvae.
