Congratulations to our Curry Hammock and Long Key State Park team members who are now officially DEP Snorkel & Skin Diving Certified!
A huge thank-you to our biologist, Maria, for an awesome hands-on training. These new skills will help our team safely explore, understand, and protect the incredible marine resources of the Florida Keys. 💙🌴

📸 SNAP a photo with your favorite mangrove creature along the trail.
📲 SHARE your adventure with the Friends of Islamorada Area State Parks using the QR code provided along the trail.
🌿 PROTECT by stopping at each creature’s sign to discover something new about the wildlife that calls our mangroves home—and simple ways you can help protect them!
From horseshoe crabs and mangrove tree crabs to spiders, jellyfish and a few spooky surprises, there’s something to discover around every bend.
And don’t forget to keep an eye out for the Ghost of Henry Flagler as you travel through Curry Hammock’s infamous mangrove tunnel! 👻🚂

The Florida Keys Hawkwatch is happening at Curry Hammock State Park! 🔭✨

Love birding? Stop by and learn all about the incredible migrating birds flying over the Florida Keys! 🦅🐦

Hawkwatch is here through October 31st, and the best time to catch the migration is between 9 AM–5 PM.

🌎 Did you know the Florida Keys is the migration capital of the world for the peregrine falcon! That makes this a pretty amazing place to grab your binoculars and look to the skies!

Next week, we’re heading to Curry Hammock State Park to explore its incredible waterways and unique ecosystem and venture through the infamous mangrove tunnel! 🌿🐚☀️

Get ready to paddle, discover, and learn about the amazing wildlife and natural beauty that make the Keys so special!

Join us in celebrating International Coastal Clean Up Day on a coastal clean up in our very own Dagny Johnson Key Largo Botanical Hammock State Park! Clean up supplies and water refill stations will be provided, please bring a reusable water bottle, bug spray, and wear appropriate footwear that can get wet. We are so excited to see you out there! Come make a difference!
