City of Maple Heights, Ohio Stay up to date on all of the City’s activities, look for announcements, stay engaged with your city. The Connotton Valley Railroad was opened in 1881.

The city of Maple Heights was originally part of the Bedford Township. In 1813, the area was first settled in by Benjamin Fitch of Connecticut. The Dunham Road was built by John Dunham who came to Maple Heights in the year 1817. The development of present day Maple Heights began around 1849 with the opening of the Cleveland and Pittsburgh Railroad. Maple Heights was initially incorporated in July 1915 as a village. Later, on the 1st of January 1932, Maple Heights was reincorporated as a city.

Jump Start Sports and the City of Maple Heights have once again teamed up to bring Hummingbird Soccer for kids ages 3-4 and 5-6; and Recreation Soccer for kids ages 7-9, all beginning in June. Sessions will run on Tuesdays, June 17th-July 22nd, and registration is now open here: www.jumpstartsports.com see the fliers for more details!

Are you ready? The Stafford Park Sprayground will open May 30th – August 17th at Stafford Park located at 5400 Mayville Ave. The Sprayground will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12 – 7 pm each day that it is open. The Sprayground will be closed on Mondays and Wednesdays. ***Keep in mind that if the temperature is below 70 degrees, the Sprayground will be closed.***
