REMINDER the land use board meeting for the development of the property at 120 Woodlawn Ave is Tuesday 1/21 at 7pm @ Mantua Municipal Building.

Please join us to push back against these woods becoming a housing development. The removal of trees and destruction of habitat is unnecessary on this historic ground.

Dear Save the Woods Friends

Thank You to all who came out Tussday 10/15 for The Mantua Township Land Use Board Meeting regarding a development application for 120 Woodlawn Avenue..

The meeting was packed with concerned residents who shared their voices and experiences and for that we are grateful!

The meeting started at 7pm and ended at 11pm. The Board and township listened to arguments from both the developers team and residents from Cold Springs Forest, Mantua Heights and Mantua and after careful consideration the board has decided to postpone making a decision to approve or deny the application and has requested the developer submit further details and requirements before a decision can be made.

We are encouraging everyone to continue to show your support for Save the Woods by sharing, supporting and coming out to the next scheduled land use board meeting for 120 Woodlawn Ave on Tuesday December 17, 2024 at 7pm.

There is power in numbers and important to share our concerns, stories and voices!

A reminder that the Mantua Land Use Committee hearing on 120 Woodlawn is scheduled for TOMORROW, October 15 7pm! If you can make it, please come out and show your support to save the woods and the animals along with it!

Gloucester County to Go Pink for Breast Cancer

Local business leaders, merchants, and community organizations kick off
Breast Cancer Awareness Month in a celebration and event at Chestnut Branch Park in Mantua on October 5, 2024 1030AM - 1PM

Community organizations and volunteers are coming together to host Gloucester Goes Pink Week, a week-long event that aims to help raise funds and awareness in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, Mantua Township and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for people living with or impacted by breast cancer. During Gloucester Goes Pink Week October 5-12, local merchants are invited to host a fundraising opportunity at their business that benefits the American Cancer Society.

The week-long event will kick off on October 5th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local representatives, special guests, community organizations, and an array of activities. The event site will be filled with vendors, Hoffman's Exterminating mascot Bugsbee, food vendors, crafters, a donation-based pilates and yoga event, giveaways, Mantua Police, Fire and Post Office exhibits, interactive activities, photo opps for all ages, a pink walk and pet parade, and so much more!

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers. More than 300,590 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2023. Over the past three decades, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’s walks have collectively grown into the nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movement – providing a supportive community for survivors, caregivers and families alike. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer funds lifesaving breast cancer research and is committed to advancing health equity through essential programs.

We have questions and tonight, we want answers!

Join us as we fight for responsible development in our community as it pertains to 120 Woodlawn Avenue and the suggested 13 homes they are trying to build on a 7 acre plot!

The developer is asking for waivers and variances on a host of issues that could negatively impact traffic, environment, wildlife, utilities, water-runoff, safety, adjoining properties and most importantly residents!

So please come out, there is power in numbers and power in your voice!
