๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค” Is this the kind of community support the Manton commission asked for in the resolution? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ The comments are priceless as it appears even nonresidents knowing nothing else beyond the resolution feel it is an infringement on constitutional rights, I believe.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ I believe Thompsonville places importance on preserving historic sites, public resources, community engagement, AND listening to the residents on such matters. Manton city commission passed a resolution to intimidate residents away from using democracy and first amendment rights about concerns on their historic sites, in my opinion. Which do you think could generate more potential revenue from marketing for generations to come and which could potentially cost the city a huge lawsuit, again, for generations?

โ€œThe biggest little town in Michigan" is crowdfunding for a bicycle trailhead, visitor's pavilion, and renovating a defunct 10-site campground.

A councilman lunged at a citizen. A kick to the head followed.

โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฏ I do not know who posted this and, as I seen before, links and posts to information about the Manton city commissioners seems to get removed in that group. But it is my belief the poster means the April 13, 2026 meeting or later.

The city code of conduct specifically sites that kind of behavior/conduct is a violation. In my opinion, NONE of the commissioners have even read the code of conduct OR believe they are above it and the democracy they are supposed to welcome and protect. Even if they did not speak they didn't stop it either and the new resolution passed by the attending majority.

Yesterday's meeting resolution is nothing more than a fear tactic, from my perspective. An example needed to be made, crack the whip and reinstall the intimidation, I believe.

I even had Gary Brown shake my hand after the meeting and basically say no hard feelings. I was quite confused. I wondered did he think this movement is over. Now that is funny!!!!!!

Good news is an electronic fillable city complaint form is being created from an original form scan. It will be shared here in an upcoming post. Along with every code of conduct rule to federal law that has been broken.

So, how did everyone view the new resolution. Did anyone feel it is a complete first amendment violation to the freedom of speech?

Does anyone feel intimidated to use your legal right to FOIA information our city government keeps non-transparent while so very very many city governments around Manton openly share it with their constituents?

After the yelling and complete disregard of democracy and respect shown to the residents attending the 4-13 meeting does anyone fear outbursts for making a comment OR even showing up?

If we want our city government fixed, 'we' are the only ones who can do it. Thank you!

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’ฏ Got to love democracy in action! We are getting 'very' close to this with our own commissioners. Hopefully our mayor Steve Sisco takes the 7 complaints, thus far, about the two commissioners he has seriously!

Guess our town is not the only one against natural resources being wasted.

The Lowell Township Board on Monday, May 18, struck down a proposed six-month moratorium on data centers despite half a year of local opposition.

The vote failed 2-5, causing a loud uproar from the audience, including threats to recall the board members who voted โ€œno.โ€ Township Clerk Monica Burtt and Treasurer Rhonda Benedict gave the only โ€œyesโ€ votes.

If a moratorium were in effect, no data center or data center expansion could be approved, started, built, installed or expanded within the township.

๐Ÿ’ฏ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿค  the city finally responded to my Request of Inclusion in the meeting agenda. I will be speaking this Wednesday May 20, 2026 at the city meeting.

A motion will be made to reclassify the city land use designation for the two parcels consisting of the Cedar Street parking area and the walking trails in the Manton Historic Mill Pond Preservation & Pathways park.

The mill pond parcels already have the use designation of parks/recreation, but the eastern portion parcels are designated exempt.

Now with the commissioners not being transparent as to which exact parcels create the "51 plus acres" it has been theorized, and supported by facts, that the parcels making up the mill pond park will be sold too.

Thus, even if the motion passes it still may not protect our historical park, the wildlife, and the environment. If the mill pond parcels are apart of the 51 plus acres, the park designation means nothing nor it's historical value and community engagement to our planning board and city commissioners.

We still feel it is worth the try. If nothing else, it shows our support of the park. After I make the motion it needs a second, and anyone or 'everyone' can do it. The majority of attendees saying "second" will definitely emphase our support for the park.

Below is the Request of Inclusion submitted awhile ago and the brief information packet provided to the city commissioners. I will print a few of the information packet to set on tables at the meeting, but this way is more environmentally friendly and cost effective.

Thank you everyone for all your support and remember, I need a "second" after the motion.....or it is disregarded!!!

๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿค  I have been wanting to share the conservation page's stats for its first month, but too busy. But now city commissioners told me "the page stats are s**t", Wilkins, and the posts are "only seen by two people", Johnson. That was after the May 6 meeting on the fire department milage as I was being yelled at to verbally assaulted before I could leave the senior center.

Shared posts by the page have been mainly contained to Manton Facebook groups since inception. Manton City has an approximate population of 1600 citizens, if I recall correctly, and Wexford county just less than 35K. As seen below for page views, those numbers have been surpassed.

Informative videos released, meaning not the park sections photo albums, surpass 1000 watches in less than 30 hours. Most in significantly less time.

Reaching that many residents that fast says we have an immense amount of community awareness, concern for our historic park, and out of the very small amount of pushback we have received (some city officials, their spouses, their children, their children's mates, their parent, and some of their friends) people are finding the facts presented at least engaging and truthful.

The conservation page is made completely public so anyone can stay updated and keep their anonymity if so desired. By our view numbers for the page and videos I assume it is doing exactly that.

Since just before creating the page, park supporters, and myself, have been ridiculed to verbally insulted. I have received bad conduct displays by means of yelling to verbal assault by some commissioners; some multiple times. I have been physically threatened twice now. Once by a city department head and another by the family of the new clerk, Nichole Traxler. I am extremely busy writing 'several' complaints currently.

Yes, that last one came as a big surprise. All I did was share concerns made by residents in conversations and made a reference to an old age saying (see NEPOTISM post on our page). The planning commission meeting was the second one in a row I made it out of without being yelled at to verbally assaulted by a commisioner before I could leave the senior center.

So I make it out again, and plan to enjoy the quiet time evening walking my dogs, but nope, the cell rings and caller ID displaying the name, Traxler being the last. By the background noise it sounds like another 'special' bar meeting was happening, plus the person was intoxicated.

It was days before this the nepotism post was made and the pushback had already subsided at least a full day before the planning commission meeting, so that is why I figured a 'special bar meeting' happened after the planning one.

Either or, this Traxler is belligerent and yelling from the answer of the call saying they are going to beat my ass. Insisting I come down, though never mentioning a location. Another reason I assumed the bar. I tried asking questions as to understand, but violence was the only focus of their's. The threats lasted almost two minutes before they hung up.

I guess if they miss watching their favorite sports team's game live, then read about their loss in the paper with an opinion they don't like from the sports writer, they call and threaten physical harm to the writer.

I know, I have no idea why people with nothing to hide seem to always get so violent. It must be the weight of no guilt on some commissioners. That assuming the age old saying about the weight of guilt is incorrect.

I am mentioning this because it is great news we are passing through stage 2. Which means stage 3 is coming!

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." - Arthur Schopenhauer

Thank you everyone for your continued support!!!
