🇺🇸 Shasta Patriots Day — We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation. As a Shasta community, we will take time to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who courageously served, and reflect on the strength and unity shown by Americans in the days that followed.

❤️🤍💙 On Friday, September 11, we invite all Shasta Hornets to wear RED, WHITE & BLUE or your favorite patriotic attire as we stand together in remembrance.

May we continue to teach our students the importance of courage, service, unity, and gratitude.

🫧🔬 Science is bubbling over in Mrs. Miller’s 7th grade class! 🔬🫧

Our 7th grade scientists performed their first science experiment—the Largest Bubble Lab! 🎉🫧

Students made a hypothesis, performed an experiment with 3 different variables, practiced making exact measurements, and took careful observations! 🧪📏👀

Students changed one variable at a time in each bubble solution to discover which mixture created the largest bubble! 🫧🏆

They then analyzed their data and drew a conclusion based on the evidence they collected! 📊💡

This experiment focused on three Science and Engineering Practices:

Yesterday we celebrated our amazing September VIPs! 💛🖤

These Hornets were recognized for demonstrating our character trait of INTEGRITY — doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Their honesty, responsibility, and strong choices help make Shasta a better place every day!

We are so proud of each of our VIPs and loved celebrating them with a special place to eat their lunch with a friend and a yummy treat! 🎉🍨🏆

🏈 The Draft Is Here! 🏈

Mrs. Simon’s homeroom classroom is kicking off an exciting new learning experience today with their official NFeLementary Draft! Students were “drafted” as the manager of NFL teams that they’ll represent throughout the year as they tackle academic challenges, work collaboratively, and build their skills.

But this isn’t just about football, it’s about learning! Students will use their NFL teams to make academics more engaging through reading, writing, math, research, statistics, problem-solving, and teamwork. Along the way, they’ll track data, analyze information, complete team challenges, and put their classroom skills into action.

Today was Draft Day, and the excitement was real! One thing is certain—in Mrs. Simon’s classroom, academics are the game plan, teamwork moves the chains, and learning is the ultimate TOUCHDOWN! 🏆📚🏈

If your student is in Mrs. Simon’s homeroom, ask him/her what team they drafted to manage and a few fun facts they learned about their team today!!
