And last, but certainly not least; the captain of this ship:

Please join us in welcoming our new Deputy Director! Nicole has been with our agency for 7 years and has served in several key roles across Operations, Emergency Management, and Community Outreach. Through each of these positions she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our mission. Nicole has consistently stepped up to fill in gaps and no matter what the challenge is, she leads with integrity and a deep understanding of the people and communities we serve.

When asked about her favorite part of MEMA, Nicole didn’t point to a specific incident or accomplishment. Instead, she reflected on the moments when our team is together, laughing, supporting one another, and enjoying each other’s company. Those moments may seem simple, but they speak volumes about who Nicole is as a leader. She understands that strong organizations are built on strong relationships, and she knows that trust and teamwork are what allow us to perform at our best when our community needs us most.

Nicole has become a true pillar of this organization, earning the respect of our membership through her compassion, strength, and ingenuity. We are incredibly fortunate to have had her step into this role and look forward to the continued growth and success of our agency under Nicole’s leadership.

Next up: Ryan is our brand new Manager of our Emergency Management Section! Please join us in extending a well-deserved congratulations to him.

Since joining the agency just 3 short years ago, Ryan has truly cemented himself as a role model and a leader. His creativity, initiative, and thoughtful approach to problem-solving have made a meaningful impact across the organization and quickly established him as an invaluable member of our team. Ryan will be responsible for identifying MEMA’s role in the pillars of Emergency Management and help to ensure that our agency is ready to respond should Mansfield need it.

His favorite memory with MEMA so far was the day we had a fire rehab call immediately followed by a communications support call. He spoke of how that moment showcased our readiness as a team and how we're prepared for whatever situation might arise.

We are excited to see Ryan step into this leadership role and look forward to the continued growth and development of our Emergency Management Section under his guidance, and strengthening a program our community can rely on when it matters most.

Introducing: Lisa!

Lisa is our administrative lead. She has been a dedicated member of MEMA through multiple chapters of the agency’s history, providing leadership and support along the way. Her experience and passion for helping others have made her a trusted resource for both new and veteran members alike.

When asked what inspired her to become involved with MEMA, Lisa shared that she joined our agency because helping others and giving her time to the community energizes her. Please help us welcome Dana to the leadership team! Dana stepped into the role of Co-Communications Coordinator and immediately hit the ground running. Since taking on the position, he has brought energy, focus, and a drive to strengthen one of the most critical parts of our organization; our communications capabilities.

Dana has been a member of MEMA for 8 years and throughout that time he has demonstrated a commitment to the agency and the mission we serve. His passion for radios, communications systems, and technology is matched only by his willingness to share that knowledge and help others grow. When Dana is around, you know you're walking away having learned something new. The expertise that Dana brings to our team is incredibly valuable and his dedication plays a key role in keeping our agency strong and prepared.

We’re grateful to have Dana helping lead our Communications team and look forward to the continued growth and improvements his leadership will bring.

Continuing our introductions: meet our new Rehab Manager, Catherine!

Catherine has been a dedicated member of our agency for the past 6 years. She joined us at the very start of the COVID-19 pandemic while she was a freshman in college, and since then, has remained a consistent, hardworking, and dependable part of our team. Throughout her time here, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting both our members and the fire departments we serve.

In her new role as Rehab Manager, Catherine will oversee our rehabilitation services at emergency scenes. Rehab plays a critical role on the fireground by helping firefighters stay hydrated, cool down, and refuel so they can remain focused and perform their jobs safely and effectively. These services not only support firefighters during active incidents, but also contribute to long-term health benefits such as improved cardiovascular health and longer, safer careers in the fire service.

Catherine is excited to step into this position and to tackle any and all other projects with the ultimate goal of bettering the agency. Please join us in congratulating Catherine on this new role!

At the start of the year, we promised to share our big changes– and now that we’ve settled in and found the flow of things 6 months in, we want to introduce our leadership team! There are 7 of us across the various sections of the agency, and 5 of those 7 have stepped up to new roles in these past 6 months.

To kick off our announcements: Brian is our newest Co-Coordinator of the Engineering Section! He has been a valued member of our agency for the past 5 years, and in that time he has consistently brought outside-the-box approaches and ambition to every challenge we face. He joined MEMA because he had recently moved to town and saw this as a great opportunity to give back to the community.

From tackling complex and unique technical issues to developing thoughtful solutions, Brian has played an important role in helping move our projects forward. He is always looking ahead and actively seeks out opportunities for our agency to grow, expand our capabilities, and become involved in larger and more impactful projects. His initiative and insight into improving what we do make him an incredible asset to our team. We are excited to see Brian step into this leadership role and continue helping guide the Engineering Section forward.

Alongside Brian in the engineering section is Brendan- our seasoned Engineering Lead.

Brendan brings a depth of technical expertise and hands-on experience from over 7 years with MEMA that is truly invaluable to our agency. Time and again, he has demonstrated an exceptional knack for solving problems that others might find daunting. Brendan's contributions often happen behind the scenes, but their impact is felt throughout the entire organization. Without his expertise and willingness to tackle whatever challenge comes his way, we would undoubtedly be facing far more downtime and a much less reliable fleet. We are incredibly fortunate to have Brendan's leadership, knowledge, and dedication as part of our team.
