TPK Group

TPK Group The TPK Group supports the mission of Friendly House and Hidden Hollow Camp through volunteerism. And, for those that are wondering - it's "The Peppiest Kids".

Our Mission: The TPK Group supports the mission of Friendly House and Hidden Hollow Camp through volunteerism and fundraising efforts. We have received several questions regarding who is The TPK Group? The TPK group was formed on August 16, 2017 by former HHC Staff members. TPK was formed because of the love for Friendly House and Hidden Hollow Camp. The founders wanted to give back to a great org

anization that does so much for the local community and for children. TPK members attended Hidden Hollow Camp as campers for several summers and then were fortunate enough to work at the greatest place on earth. The group now consists of members through out the Friendly House family, including alumni from Friendly House, Happy Hollow, Hidden Hollow and the local community. There was a desire to help raise funds and volunteer hours to further support the mission of Friendly House and Hidden Hollow Camp. The main fundraising event each year is the Weekend Of Giving, held in June at Hidden Hollow. This event brings volunteers from all over the United States to help make the Weekend Of Giving successful. TPK is being advised and supported by Friendly House Director, Terry Conard.

Hello TPK.

We wanted to report to you the most recent meeting that TPK Leadership had regarding our 2026 schedule of events.

The meeting was held on January 10th. Present were Greg, Rick, Jackie, Monica, Jen, Alex, Teena, Adam, Rhonda, Allie, and Kerry.

It was announced after the meeting that Mr. Terry will be retiring from Friendly House in September of 2027. The Friendly House Board of Managers will be working to find someone to fill his very large shoes.

Due to the scheduling of additional revenue generating rentals, as well as the planned large scale construction projects (dorm and possible pool demo and reconstruction) as well as other time consuming, behind the scenes, projects by Friendly House, there will not be a typical Weekend of Giving during 2026. We know that for many of you, this will be upsetting. Please know that this decision was not made lightly. I can tell you that TPK will continue to offer support through other events that will be occurring this spring and summer, and some of the basic information is outlined below.

Upcoming Events Tentative Dates –
• Spring Planting Day and Trail Clearing – May 9
• Wood Shop Saturday – April 18 - cleaning/organizing and project preparation
• Cabin Clean Up Saturday – April 25 - Sean Dillon will be off later winter through early spring recovering from shoulder surgery
• June 12 – 14 – Weekend Of Giving – Fund Raising Campaign Only

All the above events are free – and lunch will be provided. Details will be announced on Facebook Events.

Also discussed -
• Allie is going to create/share a Google Drive with Folders for each activity so that alumni can share ideas, plans, material lists, etc., so that current staff have more/better ideas.
• We will be creating/share a Google Form to gather contact info about the HHC Alumni Reunion planned in 2027 as well as a Spring-WoG, and a Fall Retirement party for Mr. Terry.
• HHC needs a camp vehicle (truck or van) that is road-worthy. Does anyone have ideas or connections with organizations that are involved in donated vehicles? Local auto dealerships? Anyone with information regarding this please contact Mr. Greg.

Additional items were discussed and will be announced in the near future. We hope that everyone remains well in the new year and we hope to see many of you very soon.
