Today we are proud to celebrate the graduation of Officer James Barclay from the police academy.

Officer Barclay joins the Mansfield Police Department after 23 years of service in the United States Army. During his military career, he served as an infantryman and deployed four times, conducting missions that included convoy security, mounted and dismounted patrols, personnel security detail, peacekeeping, and counterinsurgency operations. He also spent the final six years of his Army career serving as a recruiter right here in Mansfield.

While in the academy, Officer Barclay was selected as Class Leader, a reflection of the leadership, dedication, and experience he brings to our department. We are highly impressed with his background and are excited for the positive impact he will have on our community.

It was clear yesterday that family is incredibly important to Officer Barclay, which makes us even more excited to have him join the Mansfield Police Department family.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Barclay and his family to the Mansfield Police Department family.

What a great time at yesterday’s First Pedal Patrol event! ☀️🚲

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a fun and memorable day! We loved seeing so many kids participate, earning their official “bike licenses,” learning important bike safety tips, and getting creative with crafts along the way.

Events like these are a great way for us to connect with our community while helping our youngest riders stay safe and confident on their bikes. And we had a TON of fun doing it!

Thank you to the Mansfield Texas Parks & Recreation - Government, Mansfield Texas Fire Department, Mansfield Special Events, Mansfield Texas Public Library, the Mansfield Municipal Courts, and Andy's Frozen Custard for being a part of the fun.

Be sure to keep checking back on our page for more upcoming events throughout the summer. You won’t want to miss what’s next! ☀️🚔

The Mansfield Police Department is proud to recognize Detective Vinnola, Detective Billingsley, Detective Perez, and Senior Sergeant Hewitt each for being awarded the North Texas Police Chiefs’ Association Officer of the Quarter.

This recognition stems from their exceptional work on a complex homicide and kidnapping investigation that began on January 31, 2026. What initially began as a suspicious death call was quickly determined to be a homicide involving the kidnapping of a four-year-old child and the theft of the victim’s vehicle.

Through a swift and coordinated multi-state investigation, the team was able to track the suspect and stolen vehicle across state lines, ultimately leading to the safe recovery of the child in Missouri and the apprehension of the suspect by Missouri State Troopers following an AMBER Alert.

This team’s professionalism, urgency, and dedication played a vital role in the successful resolution of a tragic and highly complex case. We are grateful for their commitment to seeking justice and protecting the most vulnerable.

Please join us in congratulating Detectives Vinnola, Billingsley, Perez, and Senior Sergeant Hewitt on this well-deserved recognition.

The Mansfield Police Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Lazlo Laky and his wife, Lynette Laky, for their generosity in lending the department a 1982 Kawasaki KZ1000P motorcycle.

This is the same model of motorcycle that Officer Danny Cordes was riding at the time of his end of watch, and having this bike allows us to preserve and honor an important part of our department’s history.

Mr. Laky brings more than 53 years of public safety service across three different states, and he continues to be a valued and respected member of the North Texas motors community. We are especially grateful that he continues to stay involved by periodically returning to the department to clean and maintain the motorcycle, making sure it's properly cared for and respectfully preserved.

The Mansfield Police Department truly appreciates the Lakys’ generosity, time, and ongoing support. Their partnership helps us honor our history and Officer Cordes in a meaningful and lasting way.

Please join us in welcoming Chloe Fox, LMSW, to the Mansfield Police Department as our new Special Services Liaison in the Community Resources Division.

Chloe earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. She brings five years of social work experience, including three years serving as an MHMR Liaison with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.

If she looks familiar, it may be because she has already spent time in Mansfield through her previous role, supporting community events and working alongside our officers and partners. Her familiarity with our community and collaborative approach has already made her a natural fit for our team.

In her new role, Chloe will assist individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, provide on-scene trauma-informed crisis intervention, connect victims of violent crime to essential resources, and collaborate with officers on best practices for crisis response and management.

We are excited to have Chloe as part of our team and look forward to the positive impact she will have in our community. Please help us give her a warm welcome to the Mansfield family.
