Chlorine levels are measured daily at the water plant in Newton county and daily in the city limits of Mansfield. The epa regulation says it has to be less than 4 ppm. (Parts per million).
This morning the reading at the source was 2.19 ppm.
In the city it was measured at
1.40 ppm. The readings at the county and in the city limits are well below the maximum allowed. It is normal for the levels to drop from the source to the city limits as a result of the distance traveled.
Chlorine is added at the source by the water resource. No chlorine is added by the city. I also looked at the daily chlorine levels for the entire month of December in the City and all readings were well within range averaging under 2 ppm. If any resident needs more information please email me at [email protected] or text me at 404-834-5266. Thank you.
