I sincerely hope you and your family enjoy a well-deserved summer break. Summer is an important time for students to rest, spend time with family and friends, and stay engaged in learning.
Mansfield City Schools is proud to offer several summer programs for students of different grade levels.

These opportunities are designed to keep students active, supported, and inspired throughout the summer months. Families can review the available programs below, including grade levels, dates, locations, times, and enrollment information.

Summer Programs Available
Open Doors Academy – Malabar Intermediate Summer Camp
Open Doors Academy’s Malabar Intermediate Summer Camp gives younger scholars the chance to stay engaged through hands-on enrichment, creative activities, and positive peer connections. Students will explore new interests, build confidence, and strengthen important skills in a fun, supportive summer environment.
Grades: 3–5
Location: Crossroads City Center, 21 E. North Main St., Mansfield, OH 44903
Days: Tuesday–Friday, July 7–31, 2026
Time: 12:00 PM–3:00 PM
Cost: Free
Food and Transportation: Lunch and transportation provided

Open Doors Academy – Middle School Summer Camp
Open Doors Academy’s Mansfield Middle School Summer Camp offers students engaging, hands-on learning experiences designed to support teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and personal growth. Through enrichment activities, local partnerships, and opportunities to explore the Mansfield community, scholars can stay connected and continue learning throughout the summer.
Grades: 6-8
Location: Mansfield Middle School
Days: Monday–Friday, June 8–July 10, 2026
Time: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Cost: Free
Food and Transportation: Breakfast, lunch, and busing provided

Makerspace Mysteries Camp
Sponsored by SparkForce and Mansfield City Schools Career Technical Education staff, Tyger Makerspace Mysteries Camp gives students hands-on opportunities to explore manufacturing. Campers will participate in interactive activities and visit local manufacturing companies, helping them learn more about career pathways, problem-solving, and real-world skills.
Grades: Entering grades 7–9
Location: Mansfield Senior High School
Days:
Session 1: June 22–July 3, 2026
Session 2: July 6–July 17, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM–1:30 PM
Cost: Free

Camp Invention
Camp Invention is a weeklong, hands-on STEM program designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and encourage problem-solving. Campers will collaborate with friends, design prototypes, investigate clues, build creative solutions, and bring their big ideas to life.

Location: Mansfield Senior High School
Days: August 3–7, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM–3:30 PM
Cost: $285 (scholarships available)

What does a school district treasurer’s office actually do?

The Treasurer’s Office plays a key role in keeping Mansfield City Schools running smoothly. The team manages the district’s budget, tracks revenues and expenses, and ensures every dollar is used responsibly to support students and classrooms.

The office oversees payroll, processes payments, and maintains financial records. They work to maximize resources by evaluating spending, identifying efficiencies, and ensuring compliance with state laws and financial regulations.

This work helps ensure that taxpayer dollars are used efficiently and transparently to support teaching, learning, and student opportunities across the district.

🔍⚙️ Calling all future inventors, builders, and problem-solvers! 🐾🧡

This summer, Mansfield City Schools is turning curiosity into creativity with Tyger Makerspace Mysteries, a hands-on STEM camp where students will design, build, test, and improve their own moving creations using mystery materials and real fabrication tools.

Students will receive a mystery box filled with random materials and be challenged to create something completely unique. Then, they'll take their ideas to the next level by fabricating and refining their designs in our state-of-the-art makerspace.

📅 Two sessions available:
• June 22 – July 3 (only 5 openings remain!)
• July 6 – July 17 (only 6 openings remain!)

👥 Open to students entering 7th grade through current 9th graders.
💡 No prior experience needed—just creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to try something new!

As our Tygers enjoy summer break, we're looking back at some of the fun moments that made the final days of the school year so special. ☀️🫧

Before summer vacation began, students in Mrs. Howard's and Mrs. O'Donnell's first grade classes took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent time outside enjoying some bubble-filled fun!

From chasing bubbles across the playground to watching them float through the air, there were smiles, laughter, and plenty of excitement to go around. 🫧

Sometimes the simplest moments create the best memories, and this was certainly one of them. We hope our Tygers are having a summer filled with just as much fun! 🧡🖤

Happy Monday, Tygers! Welcome to the first full week of summer break! ☀️

As our students enjoy a well-deserved break, we're looking back at some of the fun memories from the final days of the school year.

During the ABC Countdown, "N" was for Nature Walk! 🌿🍃 Mrs. Maxwell's first grade students spent time outdoors exploring nature, making observations, and enjoying the fresh air with their classmates before summer officially began.

As another school year comes to a close and summer begins, I want to reflect on one of the highlights of the year, the Peace on My Block Festival.

One word comes to mind: gratitude.

What started as a vision to bring our community together around positivity, connection, and peace has become something truly special. Its success shows what is possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

Thank you to our Mansfield City Schools families, students, staff, and volunteers. Your energy and support created an atmosphere that showcased the very best of Mansfield.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tom Hager, Principal of Malabar Intermediate School, for all of your hard work and dedication in helping organize the Peace on My Block Festival. Your time, energy, and attention to detail played a huge role in making this event a success.

I also want to thank our community partners, vendors, and organizations whose time, talents, and resources helped create an unforgettable experience for our children and families.

To the City of Mansfield, thank you for your partnership and commitment to strengthening our community. The collaboration between our schools, city leaders, public safety personnel, and local organizations demonstrates what we can accomplish when we work together for our young people.

A special thank you goes to the United States Army Golden Knights Parachute Team. Your incredible performance was a memorable highlight and brought excitement to everyone in attendance.

🧡🐯 Learning how to make a difference in the community isn't something you can always learn from a textbook.

Recently, Mansfield Senior High School students Henry Medina and Trinitee Taylor participated in the United Way Youth-Led Allocations Program, where students were entrusted with distributing $10,000 in grant funding among local nonprofit organizations.

Throughout the experience, students learned about the importance of philanthropy, heard directly from nonprofit leaders about the impact of their work, and asked thoughtful questions to better understand the needs of each organization. Working together, they carefully considered how the funding could make the greatest difference before deciding how the grants would be distributed.

Reflecting on the experience, Henry shared that it was a valuable opportunity to collaborate with new people, learn about community needs, and support organizations making a positive impact.

Thank you, Henry and Trinitee, for representing Mansfield City Schools and helping strengthen our community through service and leadership. 🧡
