The Summer of Caring is an annual initiative United Way of Richland County organizes, bringing together companies, volunteers, and community partners to tackle over 30 hands-on service projects across our area. The annual National Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive will take place this Saturday, May 9, 2026. The HOPE Food Pantry benefits greatly from this event. Local residents can participate by leaving bags of non-perishable food next to their mailboxes for collection by letter carriers. Thanks for your support.

The annual St. Peter’s “Race Against Hunger” Iditarod took place April 28 under sunny skies. Teams of high school students raced through the streets collecting food for Catholic Charities' HOPE pantry. Prior to hitting the streets, they converged in the gymnasium, where students from every grade performed an educational skit for fellow students, followed by a basketball “hoop shoot.” This year’s event netted both food and monetary donations totaling over $8000.00. Our heartfelt thanks to the students and staff for their hard work and dedication to this worthy cause.
