🎉🎉🎉What a week at ShadowGlen! 🐾💙

Our Bobcats have been busy learning, collaborating, and doing some amazing work across campus!

📚 Mr. Figueroa’s 2nd graders worked on subjects and predicates, while Ms. Flores started the week strong with reading and identifying genre using Tim’s Grandmother.

💪 Ms. Puente was in action, framing her lesson, setting the purpose for learning, and using a quick whisper correction to keep scholars on track.

➗ Mrs. Yang kept her 5th grade mathematicians thinking and justifying their answers, while Ms. Orio used gestures, sentence stems, word banks, and illustrated vocabulary to support math learning.

🗣️ Our Dual Language classrooms were shining too! Mr. Romero encouraged purposeful student talk, and Ms. Flores and Ms. Becerra showed great use of cognates, turn-and-talks, sentence stems, and other DL strategies.

📖 Ms. Williams had ALL scholars involved through choral reading and also had students doing an excellent job using Scratch!

👏 Shoutout to Foster, Williams, Yang, Johnson, Price, Cruz, and our PLC teams for the planning, student work, writing, math conversations, and great instruction happening throughout the week.

🎂 We also celebrated some of our awesome staff birthdays! 🍧 Kindergarten also enjoyed a well-deserved popsicle party to celebrate all of their hard work!

🌟 During our staff meeting, we recognized our August Staff Members of the Week! They have been doing a tremendous job, and we are so proud of everything they bring to ShadowGlen each day!

And we closed out the week with our first Cool Cat Friday of the year! 🐾🎉 Our teachers and scholars were celebrated for their hard work and dedication during these first few weeks of school, and 3rd Grade came ready with the Bobcat spirit and took home the Spirit Stick! 🏆💙

Keep it going, Bobcats! 🐾

Our students have access to incredible opportunities right in their neighborhood schools. They can earn an associate degree for FREE, attend school virtually, take advantage of free after school care, and participate in programs that help them discover their talents and prepare for their future.

We’re also proud to offer UIL Fine Arts and Athletics opportunities for homeschool students in our community while continuing to make responsible financial decisions that keep students at the center of what we do.

🌟🎉🎉What an amazing 2nd week of school we had at the Glen! We are so proud of the hard work happening across SGE as our teachers and scholars continue to BLOOM UPWARD! 🌱

📚 Ms. Flores’ second graders displayed TEKS-aligned work and used blue and green lights to identify the language of instruction.

🎨 Mrs. Palmer’s first graders created “Alphabet Soup” art projects.
Ms. Ramirez’s 2nd-grade library class worked on tracing different book genres and writing them out. So awesome!

🔥 Mrs. Correa’s fifth-grade class was on FIRE with co-teaching, targeted small groups, HQIM engagement, checks for understanding, and direct SPED support! Way to go, Mrs. Correa and our amazing SPED team!

➕ Ms. Yang’s fifth graders used movement to practice skip counting, while Ms. Orio’s first graders practiced addition with math tools.

📖 Ms. Morales’ third graders practiced reading and hashtagging, our kindergarten scholars completed their first reading lesson, and Ms. Odu’s 4th grade class wrote about safety.

🪴 Special thanks to our awesome lead custodian, Ms. Chelley, for donating a beautiful plant to Ms. Puente’s second-grade class full of blooming babies!

Keep blooming upward, SGE! 💚💙

🎉 🎉🎉🌟 What an incredible first week of school at ShadowGlen! 🌟

🌟Our scholars jumped right into learning! Ms. Morales’ class learned about hashtags and stayed fully engaged with whiteboards. Ms. Masini’s class practiced capitalization and used bridges to identify patterns. Ms. Correa supported scholars as they worked diligently, while Mr. Navarro, Mr. Romero, and Ms. Johnson led engaging class activities. Ms. Hasan used sentence stems for kindergarten introductions, and Mrs. Stubbelfield’s scholars learned through play in their centers.

⭐️Principal Young and her leadership team made classroom visits and were impressed by the strong teaching, student engagement, and positive classroom environments throughout the building! Across campus, our third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade teams were on fire—building relationships, establishing strong routines and systems, setting high expectations, and delivering meaningful instruction. 🔥

📣Shout-out to Ms. Foster, Ms. DeJesus, Ms. Gomez, and all our amazing educators for starting the year strong!

🎉🎉 We’re excited to welcome all our new staff members to the ShadowGlen team, including Ms. Ramirez, our new librarian and newest member of the Specials Team! They all had an awesome first week, and we’re already impressed by the positive impact they’re making. We’re so happy to have each of them as part of our ShadowGlen family! 📚💚

💚Thank you to Bojangles for providing breakfast for our staff on the first day of school. We also appreciate our support teachers, Central Office team, Ms. Karen and everyone who helped the week run smoothly.

❤️Most importantly, thank you to our incredible staff, scholars, and families for making our first week such a success. We’re just getting started, let’s keep blooming upward at ShadowGlen! 🌸
