🎉🎉🎉What a week at ShadowGlen! 🐾💙
Our Bobcats have been busy learning, collaborating, and doing some amazing work across campus!
📚 Mr. Figueroa’s 2nd graders worked on subjects and predicates, while Ms. Flores started the week strong with reading and identifying genre using Tim’s Grandmother.
💪 Ms. Puente was in action, framing her lesson, setting the purpose for learning, and using a quick whisper correction to keep scholars on track.
➗ Mrs. Yang kept her 5th grade mathematicians thinking and justifying their answers, while Ms. Orio used gestures, sentence stems, word banks, and illustrated vocabulary to support math learning.
🗣️ Our Dual Language classrooms were shining too! Mr. Romero encouraged purposeful student talk, and Ms. Flores and Ms. Becerra showed great use of cognates, turn-and-talks, sentence stems, and other DL strategies.
📖 Ms. Williams had ALL scholars involved through choral reading and also had students doing an excellent job using Scratch!
👏 Shoutout to Foster, Williams, Yang, Johnson, Price, Cruz, and our PLC teams for the planning, student work, writing, math conversations, and great instruction happening throughout the week.
🎂 We also celebrated some of our awesome staff birthdays! 🍧 Kindergarten also enjoyed a well-deserved popsicle party to celebrate all of their hard work!
🌟 During our staff meeting, we recognized our August Staff Members of the Week! They have been doing a tremendous job, and we are so proud of everything they bring to ShadowGlen each day!
And we closed out the week with our first Cool Cat Friday of the year! 🐾🎉 Our teachers and scholars were celebrated for their hard work and dedication during these first few weeks of school, and 3rd Grade came ready with the Bobcat spirit and took home the Spirit Stick! 🏆💙
Keep it going, Bobcats! 🐾
