State route 3 is closed in the area of state route 193 and Benton road for a serious motor vehicle accident. Avoid the area.

This morning we were dispatched to establish a fill site for Lacona fire department for a working structure fire. Our members were on scene for just shy of 5 hours before calling back into service.

Storms may bring damaging winds, hail, heavy downpours which can lead to flooding and the possibility of a tornado.

Do not approach downed trees, lines, or try to cross flooded roads. Call 911.

Official date set.

Project engineers have confirmed that July 20th is now the set date that State Route 178 (West Chruch St) will be closed at I-81.

Starting July 20th I-81 South will not be accessible form the Village of Adams. If you are coming from Watertown you’ll need to exit I-81 in Adams Center and take Route 11 into the village.

You will still be able to get onto/off I-81 North and get into the village.

You will also be detoured if trying to get from Adams to Belleville and Henderson if using State Route 178 from Adams.

Remember, there is a low clearance bridge on Liberty Street, so all large trucks will need to go to Pierpont Manor to get to Belleville.

This closure is expected to last for up to 45 days.

🚨 Traffic Alert 🚨

State Route 178 (West Church St) will be closed at McDonalds starting July 6th. This is being done by the state, and will last for 30 days.

You will not be able to get to Belleville from Adams by using 178 or get on I-81 South from the village.

If traveling on I-81 N (coming from Syracuse) you will still be able to exit I-81 at Adams and get into the Village.

If you are traveling I-81 S (coming from Watertown) you will need to get off in Adams Center to get into the village.

Use caution if you're out and about today, between downpours and strong winds travel may be effected. Do not approach a downed tree in the roadway as it may have wires in it. Do not approach downed wires as well as they may be live.

Possibility of severe weather this afternoon. Reminder to not approach downed wires or trees as they could have electrical lines wrapped up in them.
