Well I am pretty sure Nicole Koster jinxed us, but I will let you judge.

Herding and loading the pigs out of a 5 acre pasture is always a chore. Every year we refine our tactics and this year we went into harvesting day with high spirits. Nicki even said "I think this year will be our easiest year yet"

Well, I went down and put some feed on the trailer and the pigs got right on! Under two minutes! Unheard of!

So I shut the door, started the truck and off we were! Until I looked in the side view mirror.....

Nothing like welding under a trailer with 2000lbs of moving pigs in it.

Piglets are growing good! We are excited to offer 50% kunkune crosses this year. Known for their rich gourmet pork and high quality lard, kunkune seemed like the right variety to mix with our standard long pigs.
Butcher dates are in August so reserve your half or whole early!

For all of you that were interested...

We are selling soap!!! While supplies last.

$8 bar for Pine Tar
$6 bar for all other scents

(Please keep in mind that most bars are 4.25 oz, ours are 6 oz)

All of our soap is made from the lard of our pigs and tallow of local cows both rendered by us. The only other ingredients are lye, clay and essential oils.

Making soap for our family is so rewarding. Our children learn science in real world applications and the soap we all use is better for our skin.

The lard used to make this soap comes from the fat of the pig we keep. We freeze the fat until winter then cook it down to make lard. Half of the lard we jar and use for frying and the other half we use for our soap.

Many of our friends and family get to enjoy the positive impact that homemade lard soap provides.

We are decreasing the toxins in our home one step at a time. 🥰
