📚 ATTENDANCE MONTH IS HERE! 🦁💛

We kicked off Attendance Month at MJHS with high energy, music, and plenty of Monarch spirit! Our cheerleaders and staff were out bright and early, greeting students as they entered the building and reminding them that every school day counts!

Regular attendance gives students the opportunity to learn, grow, build relationships, participate in activities, and make the most of their time at MJHS. Being present matters!

A huge THANK YOU to our parents and families who make getting to school a priority and work hard to ensure their scholars attend school as much as possible. Your partnership makes a difference! 👏🏾👏

MJHS would like to shout a huge 🎉THANK YOU🎉to the Divine Nine (D9) for their generous donation of hygiene supplies!

This community service initiative was spearheaded by the Sumter Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in partnership with D9 organizations serving Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon counties.

The purpose of this effort is to help ensure that students have access to essential personal hygiene items that can support their health, confidence, comfort, and overall well-being. These items are a huge addition to our Monarch Den (formerly known as Clothing and Care Closet) and we are so appreciative!

📣 Dress Code Reminder, MJHS Monarchs! 👑🖤💛

Parents and students, we want to take a moment to remind everyone about our school dress code expectations. We are still seeing a few recurring dress code concerns:

🚫 Midriff showing — Shirts/tops should provide appropriate coverage.
🚫 Head coverings over 2 inches — Please remember the school’s guidelines regarding the size of head coverings.
🚫 Holes above the knees — Jeans and pants with holes or tears above the knee are not permitted.

We appreciate our parents’ support in helping students arrive at school dressed appropriately and ready to learn each day. Please take a moment to check your student’s clothing before they leave home.
