Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southeastern Calhoun,
southern Clarendon, southern Bamberg and southeastern Orangeburg
Counties through 530 PM EDT...

At 439 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Santee State Park to near Crocketville.
Movement was east at 35 mph.
..Boaters on Lake Marion Should Seek Safe Harbor...

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Manning, Holly Hill, Branchville, Summerton, Bowman, Elloree, Santee
State Park, Santee Cooper Regional Airport, Rivers Bridge State Park,
Santee, Ehrhardt, Eutawville, Rowesville, Vance, Poplar Creek
Landing, Rimini, Stumphole Landing, Eautaw Springs, Blounts Landing,
and Low Falls Landing.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 26 between mile markers 154 and 169.
Interstate 95 between mile markers 85 and 117.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

If on or near Lake Marion, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southwestern
Clarendon County through 615 PM EDT...

At 525 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Eastern Lake Marion, or 15 miles south of Manning, moving east at 5
mph.
..Boaters on Lake Marion Should Seek Safe Harbor...

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

Summerton, Santee Cooper Regional Airport, and St. Paul.

This includes Interstate 95 between mile markers 102 and 109.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

If on or near Lake Marion, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close

EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Chesterfield, Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, Northern Lancaster,
Southern Lancaster, and Sumter Counties.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Boil Water Advisory Repeal
AREA AFFECTED BY THIS REPEAL: WOODLAKE DR & GARDEN PLACE CT (WYBOO PLANTATION AREA). People in the affected area no longer need to boil their water before drinking or cooking.
Water samples were tested by a certified lab, and the results show that the water is now safe for drinking and cooking. If you have any questions, please call the (803)433-3255.
