The last documented candidates debate between incumbent Republican Rep. Glenn Grothman and a challenger was in 2014, when he first ran for Congress. Now, FOX 11 has conducted individual interviews with Grothman and Democratic challenger Brad Smith for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District, covering issues that matter to Wisconsin voters.
These are separate interviews, not a debate—but an opportunity to hear from both candidates.

Republican incumbent Rep. Shae Sortwell (Assembly District 2) skipped another news outlet candidate survey. His challenger, Alicia Saunders, took the time to answer it.
Sortwell has held the Assembly District 2 seat since 2019. The district covers northern Manitowoc County, southern Brown County, and parts of southeast Outagamie County. If Sortwell can’t take the time to answer a survey, can he really serve District 2 well?
Vote Alicia Saunders on Nov. 3.

Sortwell, a Republican, represents the district, which extends from the town of Two Creeks in the east to the village of Kimberly in the west.

Most of the Medicaid cuts Republicans made as part of the 'Big Beautiful Bill' won't take effect until January 2027 or later, after the midterm elections. That means Republicans will be largely insulated from voters feeling the negative effects before Election Day, which critics say was by design.
