🪴It’s planting season🪴so the library has been planted with a variety of garden themed books for readers and gardeners of all ages! We have some seed donations in the seed tin for anyone to use, and also added more seed envelopes if you want to share some! We also have some friendship bracelet kits and squishies that were donated by GSNWGL - Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes!

We are almost full in the Garden! This is amazing news. If you would still like a bed we have W3, 47,48, and 49 available. Please contact Melissa White at 517-281-7639 if you are interested in one of these beds.

Michelle, Cathy and I, the three Gardenteers will be scooping horse p**p (composted from Judy) tomorrow to freshen up the Community and Senior Center beds. If anyone wants to help with this and scoop some p**p with us and add some to your own bed, we are meeting at 9:00 am in the garden, Wednesday, May 7. We will go over with a trailer and pick it up and then spread it when we get back.

It’s almost garden season!! 🌱

Our next Community Garden meeting for those with beds and interested in beds will be on April 10 at 11:15 at the Manistique Senior Center. Yesterday, we had a great group of people attend the meeting, and all are excited to get back into the garden. Michelle, Cathy, and Melissa will create a list of tasks that need to be done this summer, and we will need volunteers. Watch for the list, and hopefully, you can help us out!
I would encourage you to watch for more info about the week of April 21, as Nicole and Bob from the Paper Mill have an excellent proposal for us to add butterfly-friendly plants and level out that area back on Wolf Street by the large Oak tree. It will be great to get the garden cleaned up, the mulch moved where it needs to be moved, and the beds ready for planting by the first of May.
