Hope. It is the very wellspring of our life in Manila.
Manila is filled with promises kept of a bright and safe past where we raised our children. It is also evident that the future overflows with abundant promise for the future of our families.
But to keep the promise strongly in place, we must tenaciously guard the morals, traditions, and values we have always employed here in Manila.
As your candidate for Mayor of Manila, I am thrilled to represent US, to lead US, and to join as WE serve our community.
Now that I am retired, serving our community full-time means welcoming ALL citizens to share their ideas, concerns, and opportunities for our town. By having an open-door policy, WE can have conversations whenever possible. TOGETHER We Are Better.
Manila is the hometown I have loved my entire life! Graduating from Manila High School is a strong source of pride for my husband and me. Our children are also proud graduates of MHS, and our grandchildren are current roaring Lions. My family’s roots are deep here and it feels so good to have a generational hometown that means so much.
As a resident, mother, and grandmother, I want the best for ALL generations both current and future.
A bit about my personal history:
During my years in high school, I worked many summer jobs. One of which was working at the Manila Police Department in the Summer Workforce Program. There I found a love for community service and justice. I graduated from Manila High School in 1975 and immediately started my career in law enforcement working for the Blytheville Police Department. Initially assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division, I accepted a transfer to the Records Department and was then promoted to the role of Assistant to the Chief of Police.
My tenure at BPD caused me to solidify my skills in interpersonal dynamics, organizational management, budget management, and special compassion for police officers—and their families. Working alongside judges, lawyers, criminals, and parolees reminded me that we are all humans, and we all need to have accountability for our decisions and actions. As a person of deep and abiding faith, it is imperative that everyone is treated with fairness and remember that justice needs to be served.
My name is Pam Chipman. I am a hometown girl, all grown up, ready to serve as Mayor of OUR town.
