A new 300,000-gallon water tower is under construction Tuesday near the Riley County Public Works facilities at 6215 Tuttle Creek Boulevard north of Manhattan. The tower will serve northern Riley County residents living within Rural Water District No. 1 and is located adjacent to another tower at the Tuttle Creek Shooting Park. As previously reported by The Mercury, capacity has been dwindling for RWD No. 1 over the past decade, dropping below the recommended threshold set by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, according to county planner Bob Isaac.

Even small leaks from:
🚽 Toilets
🚰 Faucets
🚿 Showerheads

can add up quickly.

The good news? Many leaks are easy and inexpensive to fix, and repairing them can save homeowners about 10% on water bills.
