But litter threatens our Sportsman's Paradise. By keeping trash out of our waterways, we can help protect fish habitats, preserve water quality, and ensure future generations can enjoy Louisiana's great outdoors.

We had our last Affiliate Regional Meeting of the summer yesterday in Eunice on the LSUE campus. Mayor Scott Fontenot welcomed Keep Louisiana Beautiful and the eight Affiliates in attendance, including Keep Abbeville Beautiful, Keep Lafayette Beautiful, St. Charles Parish, City of DeRidder - City Hall, Pick It Up Calcasieu, CleanAlex - Keep Alexandria Beautiful, Bossier Parish Community College, and Keep Eunice Beautiful.

At the meeting, we learned about litter enforcement, youth education, and the Affiliates had a chance to share what they are doing locally to tackle litter and educate the public.

Keep Lake Charles Beautiful and the City of Lake Charles were honored with a Love the Boot award. With 700 volunteers across 56 cleanup and beautification projects, they removed 17,600 lbs of litter.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Eunice! We loved seeing y'all!
