FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mandan Rural Fire Protection District Invites Residents to Mill Levy Election Information Meeting

MANDAN, N.D. — The Mandan Rural Fire Protection District invites residents to attend a public information meeting regarding the upcoming mill levy election on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mandan Rural Fire Station, 3014 34th Street NW.

The meeting is open to all residents of the district and will provide information regarding the upcoming mill levy election on June 10, 2026. District officials will explain the proposed levy increase, discuss the district’s current and future funding needs, and answer questions from residents.

The funds from this mill levy increase will be used for the building of a new station in the future. Multiple locations are being looked at. One of the Proposed locations is East of the Mandan Tennis Court.

The Mandan Rural Fire Dept. is currently an all-volunteer dept so the response time to a fire station from responders residences has to be taken into consideration. The goal of a new station is to improve response time in the district as well as to expand services.

Due to continued growth of the District the dept has outgrown the current location of Station 1 and it cannot support overnight accommodations. There is currently a Brush Truck being stored at an off site location.

Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about the measure and ask questions prior to the election.
