As summer begins, a reminder to always wear your life jacket! Children under 13 years old are required to wear life jackets when on board any type of vessel, including paddle craft. Each person 13 years old and older have to always have a life jacket of proper size and fit and in good and serviceable condition on board with them. Have a fun and safe summer on the water!

The big game permit draw application for Lone Mesa State Park is now live for 2026! A link to the application can be found on the Lone Mesa website here https://cpw.state.co.us/state-parks/lone-mesa-state-park/lone-mesa-state-park-park-highlights The application will close on June 25th at 4:00 pm.

A reminder that only hunters with valid licenses will be considered for the permit draw to hunt at the park. Exceptions are hunters planning to purchase over-the-counter elk tags for 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons, and youth hunters participating in the secondary draw.

Private-land-only licenses and September bear rifle licenses are not valid at Lone Mesa State Park.

The permit draw will be held at the Mancos State Park visitor center at 5:00 pm on June 26th. It will be live-streamed via zoom and a link will be posted. Good luck to all who apply!

The visitor center at Mancos State Park will have limited staffing until May 15th. To make camping reservations please call 1-800-244-5613 or visit cpwshop.com. For Colorado Parks and Wildlife information call the Durango Wildlife Office at 970-247-0855. For vessel, OHV, or snowmobile registrations, please call us at 970-533-7065 to leave a message and we will get back to you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
