The Manchester Police Department extends its deepest condolences on the unexpected passing of Mr. Gary Zimmerman, “Mr. Z”, a dedicated school crossing guard who faithfully served our community for 13 years.

Mr. Zimmerman’s commitment to the safety of our children and families did not go unnoticed—his presence at the College Street Elementary (Hwy. 41) crosswalk was a daily reassurance to parents and a friendly, familiar face to so many students. His service reflected a genuine care for others and a strong sense of duty that will be remembered and greatly missed.

We mourn alongside his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.

Mr. Zimmerman’s legacy of service to the Manchester community will not be forgotten.

Services for "Mr. Z" will be held at Central Funeral Home, Manchester, TN. Visitation will be this Thursday, the 25th, from 1pm - 3pm, with the service following at 3pm.

Thanks Joey Hobbs, Mayor of Manchester!

I would like to acknowledge the fantastic job that Chief Adam Floied and the MPD did managing Bonnaroo traffic. Bringing so many visitors in at one time does present some challenges, and I believe they met the challenge! They met their goal of minimizing the impact on local residents as much as possible, and they frequently communicated public updates. Kudos to them as well as all the city employees from other departments that stepped up to help out! Thank you for a job well done!

Yup, another update, this time is great news!!!

We will return Ragsdale Rd. and Bushy Branch Rd. to normal, 2-way traffic flow over the next few minutes. We have purged out thousands of vehicles over the past few hours and it is finally clearing up at Roo. The end is in sight! Thank you to all of the visitors and locals for your patience and understanding while we work to make our roads return to normal.

Traffic update:

We will start 2-lane, 1-way out to expedite the Bonnaroo traffic exit. This will affect Ragsdale Rd to Bushy Branch Rd. Ragsdale Rd. residents are urged to use the Taylor Rd. access during this peak traffic time. We decided to use this 2-lane exit strategy after morning rush hour. If you have any issues or need assistance getting to or from your residence in this affected area, please contact police communications @ 931-728-2099 and we will do everything we can to help you.

Traffic update:

It’s the Monday following Bonnaroo, time to help get everyone started on their journey back home.

Expect heavy traffic in the Hwy. 55 (McMinnville Hwy.) @ Ragsdale Rd. & I-24 Exit 111 area this morning. Ragsdale Rd. will be extremely congested at some point this morning. You can avoid much of the traffic on Ragsdale Rd. by using the Taylor Rd. - Hwy. 55 route and bypass the Ragsdale @ Hwy. 55 area.

Also, the Hwy. 41S (Hillsboro Blvd.), I-24 114 Exit, Campground Rd. & Kimberly Lane area will be congested as well.

Please expect small delays in those areas. Our focus is to minimize the impact on local traffic, however, you may encounter some small delays.

Safe travels today for everyone!

Another weekend on the farm is complete!

Traffic is starting to exit the farm and will continue throughout the night. We will continue to post traffic updates as we have them.

We have a lot of men and women that have worked really hard for this community and all of its visitors this week!

Travel safe headed home from Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival!

Traffic update:

Ragsdale Rd. is open. Bushy Branch is open with traffic inbound to the festival and outbound leaving the festival. Inbound traffic will be fluctuating between Bushy Branch and Ragsdale Rd / Shed Rd., alternating between the East and West tollbooths. Thank you for your patience.
