On 8-21-26 at 0051 hrs Rescue 26 with Ch 26 ( Vogelsong), Engine 26-4 and Car 26 responded to an unknown injury MVA at Lewisberry and E. Canal Rds. Car 26 arrived to find a 2 vehicle MVA with a large debris field/ Large area of leaking fluids and 2 heavily damaged vehicles. Command was established and crews handled spill and debris removal and traffic control. 2 EMS units were requested for patient evaluation. Box in service at 0147 hrs. On 8-21-26 at 0950 hrs Engine 26-4 with Past Ch 26 ( Wertz) responded to Bowers Bridge and Cly Rds for an unknown injury accident. Engine 26-4 arrived and command was established. Crews found a vehicle well off the roadway in the woods along the creek. Crews checked the vehicle along with NRPD officers in an attempt to locate a driver or occupants with negative results. Crews used a thermal imager to check area for heat sources also with negative results. Crews remained on scene while the vehicle was removed from the woodland. NRPD investigation revealed the driver was located and not at the scene. Box in service at 1122 hrs. A total of 5 members responded for this incident. At 1654 hours, Strinestown Community Fire Company was dispatched to the intersection of Butter Road & Bull Road in Conewago Township for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries.

Engine 26-4 arrived first on scene and found a two-vehicle accident with one person injured. Engine 26-1, Engine 26-2, Chief 26, and Assistant Chief 26-1 responded to the incident. Once Engine 26-4 and Assistant 26-2 arrived, the incident was held to units already on scene.

Thank you to Station 26 and Station 6 Fire Police for assisting with traffic control.

While units were clearing the accident at Butter Road & Bull Road, another call was dispatched for a vehicle versus utility pole in the area of East Canal Road & Jug Road in Conewago Township. All previously responding units were redirected to this incident.

Chief 26 arrived to find a single-vehicle accident with all occupants out of the vehicle. One person was evaluated by EMS. All members assisted with debris cleanup and scene operations.

On 13 July 26 at 1544 hrs Engine 26-4 with Past Ch 26 (Wertz) and a crew of 4 and Traffic 26 and Ch 26-1 (Small) responded to a Working Structure Fire on Pines Rd in Newberry Township. The Fire was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm bringing Tanker26 and Engine 26-2 with a crew of 3. Engine 26-2’s crew assisted with fire suppression and overhaul. Tanker 26 assisted with hauling water towards fire extinguishment. Traffic 26 assisted with road closures and traffic control. Engine 26 -4 established a water supply at a fire hydrant on Pines Rd and supplied 11,800 gallons to water to tankers on the fire scene. The 26 units returned to service 1756 hrs. At 2002 hours, Station 26 was dispatched to the intersection of Butter Road and Daugherty Road in Conewago Township for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Engine 26-1, Engine 26-2, Engine 26-4, Chief 26-1, and Car 26 responded to the incident. Upon arrival, Chief 26-1 and Car 26 found a single-vehicle accident with one occupant still inside the vehicle.

Crews secured the scene, assisted with patient care, and mitigated hazards by controlling fluids and clearing debris from the roadway. Fire Police from Station 26, Station 23, Fire Police 89-5, and Traffic 6 established traffic control and closed the roadway to provide a safe working environment for emergency personnel.

At 11:08 a.m., Station 26 and surrounding mutual aid companies were dispatched to Bowers Bridge Road in Conewago Township for a reported brush fire. While responding, Engine 26-4 advised York County 911 that a significant column of smoke was visible from the Dover area.

Upon arrival, Car 26 and Engine 26-4 found a rapidly spreading brush fire involving approximately 25-30 acres. With real-feel temperatures exceeding 100 degrees and challenging wind conditions fueling the fire’s spread, additional brush units, tankers, and engines were requested to the scene.

Thanks to the hard work, dedication, and coordinated efforts of all responding agencies, crews were able to gain control of the fire and prevent it from becoming an even larger incident. Firefighters continue to work on scene extinguishing hot spots and ensuring the area is safe.

The Strinestown Community Fire Company would like to thank all of our mutual aid partners who responded and assisted throughout this operation. Incidents like this highlight the importance of teamwork, training, and cooperation between departments.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the residents, local businesses, and community members who stopped by with water, Gatorade, snacks, and other supplies for our crews. Your generosity and support during the extreme heat did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated by everyone on scene.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in this operation and helped keep Conewago Township safe. We are proud to serve such a supportive community.
