Today, on National Women in Law Enforcement Day, we are proud to recognize the incredible women who serve the Manchester Police Department:

Each of these women brings strength, professionalism, compassion and dedication to our department and the community we serve. They answer the same calls, face the same challenges and carry the same responsibility of protecting and serving Manchester every day.

We are proud to have them wearing the Manchester Police Department badge, and we thank them for the sacrifices they make, the example they set, and the difference they make in our community.

Today, we celebrate them and all women who have answered the call to serve in law enforcement. 💙

September 11 is always a somber day. Even 25 years later, most of us can still remember exactly where we were when we heard the news.
It was one of our country’s darkest days, but it also brought out the best in people.

💗 $10 from every item sold benefits the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition, which provides financial assistance to Tennesseans undergoing active breast cancer treatment.

More great news arrived today! The City has been awarded a $94,700 HART grant to create a systemwide Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

This type of grant is specifically intended for professional planning. Some of Manchester’s challenges have resulted from moving forward without cohesive, expertly developed long-term plans. This process will help us identify needs, set priorities, make responsible decisions, and compete for future funding for our parks.
When opportunities for public input become available, we encourage everyone to participate.

Special thanks to grant writer Dave Capka, our City staff, and Parks and Recreation Department for helping secure this investment in Manchester’s future!

Great news for Manchester! The City has been awarded a $4 million EDA grant following its 2025 application!
With a $1 million City contribution, this $5 million project includes:

• Replacing approximately 5,100 feet of 18-inch sewer line
• Replacing approximately 1,000 feet of 24-inch sewer line
• Replacing or rehabilitating 33 manholes

This is a major investment in Manchester’s infrastructure and future!
