Don’t fall for the hook, line, and sinker of a phishing scam, such as an email, link, or false website. Phishing scams involve threat actors posing as legitimate businesses in order to convince victims to hand over passwords, company data, bank details, and other information.

Additionally, there are company scams luring Veterans to purchase items then stating VA will reimburse the Veteran. Do not get caught up in those scams either. Any reimbursable items must start with the VA, be requested by the VA, and pre-authorization is needed.

Veterans who suspect they have experienced fraud can find out more and report to the appropriate agency at https://vsafe.gov/ or calling (833) 38V-SAFE.
