During today’s live fire training we had 69 operational personnel participate and completed 41 evolutions.

Members from Manchester, Westminster, Lineboro, Reese, Pleasant Hill, Hanover Area Fire & Rescue, Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department, and Hereford Volunteer Fire Company were in attendance.

Volunteers were able to work on hose line advancement, using the thermal imaging camera, search, spray patterns and more.

A huge thank you to Chief Franklin and Bridget for the countless hours and months of work it took to get this training lined up. Thank you to the home owners for allowing us to train here.

Thank you to Westminster Fire Department for providing breakfast, Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company for providing lunch, Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department who provided the pallets to burn and porta pots for the day, and Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company for providing the water and Gatorade.
Thanks again to Jason Roofing and Restoration, LLC for prepping the roof for today’s burn. Thank you the Dug Hill Rod & Gun Club for allowing us to park apparatus.

There were also 12 non operational attendees, 9 Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS of Maryland employees, and 5 guests. Commissioner Susan Krebs was among the guests and were happy to have her here observing and learning more about what we do.

It was a very successful training day and we appreciate all the volunteers who took time to practice and learn in order to better serve their community and each other.
