Today has been a bittersweet day. Today was the last day for our Jennifer Green.
Many years ago, I worked for Jennifer and her husband Dale during hay season. Jennifer would run the rake and I would bail the hay. Dale would be running around keeping things going ( Jennifer was BOSS). One day we were waiting on Dale to bring me bailing twine to the field. Jennifer was done raking and got off her tractor to hang out until Dale arrived. Out of the blue she asked “are you ever going to run for Sheriff?” I said yes probably someday and if I get elected will you come be my right hand? She agreed and we shook hands on the deal.
Few years later I get elected Sheriff of Coffee County and I made the call to Jennifer about the hayfield contract!
Jennifer Green came to work September 1st of 2018 and we hit the ground running. She has been an absolute rock for all of us! I know she has had some hard days with me and seen things happen that many would never understand in the past 8 years. She has been at my side during some terrible times and has always been the positive influence. She has done the work that most departments have 3 people doing. She has kept perfect books and records. Thanks to Jennifer we have had zero audit findings in 8 years! I am so proud of her and what she has accomplished for our department. She worked tirelessly to save money for our county, she took care of our HR files, she did our workmen’s compensation, she was secretary for the law enforcement committee. She did so many things that went unrecognized or even known about.
We have cried together, we have laughed together, and we have celebrated together.
Join me in thanking a true unwavering servant for our county.
Jennifer, we love you and we are happy that you blessed us these past 8 years. You are the gold standard!

Update:
Mr. Ritter has been located and is safe. Thanks to the public for your assistance.

We are asking the public’s help in locating Eugene Edward Ritter, 36. Mr. Ritter’s vehicle was found in the Normandy area on August 18th, and no one has seen Mr. Ritter since. For Immediate Release

Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call on Maple Drive in Lakewood Park which resulted in an Officer involved shooting. Officers have not been injured. The subject has been transported for treatment and is in critical but stable condition. TBI and the District Attorney General’s Office is on scene to investigate the incident. Updates will be released as they become available.

Shauna M Holland was taken into custody over the weekend. Shauna stole thousands of dollars from locals through our Little League baseball teams. Shauna took the yearly pictures and then took money from parents. The pictures were never produced. Shauna now has a court date of September 16th.

BOTH THE TRUCK AND TRAILER HAVE BEEN RECOVERED IN THE NASHVILLE AREA BY OUR INVESTIGATORS. SUBJECTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AND INDICTMENTS ARE BEING SOUGHT FOR THE INDIVIDUALS RESPONSIBLE.

This truck was used in the theft of the pictured trailer on 8/9/26 at 7am on Woodbury hwy. Public Announcement,

Please be on the lookout for Christopher Leo Taylor Jr. 16 years old. He was last seen at his residence in Hillsboro on 6/24/26 with a friend who dropped him off in Boyton Valley. While at the location in Boyotn Valley he was picked up by a white or beige vehicle unknown make or model and has not returned home.
