Our Story
MISSION STATEMENT; Friends of Manchester Trees
adopted September 24, 1973
To promote, encourage and foster the preservation, treatment, care and maintenance of all types of trees and shrubs standing in the parks and other public lands of the Town of Manchester or otherwise owned or within the control of the Town or the Commonwealth under appropriate law;
To assist the Town in the removal from those areas of dead or diseased trees and in the planting in those areas of new trees;
To encourage a respect for aesthetic, ecological and horticultural value of trees and shrubs;
To collect, analyze and disseminate timely information relative to the care and preservation of trees and shrubs to appropriate public officials and concerned private citizens;
To seek the assistance of appropriate governmental bodies, and
To coordinate the activities of interested citizens and other groups in furtherance of the above purposes.
