As we get closer to spring the frost keeps going deeper so it is important to keep your water running if you have been. Typically right around Valentine's Day is worst for frost getting into customers water lines. This is when we start getting less snow and more sunshine which lulls into thinking it is warmer but the frost keeps getting deeper every day until Spring! The meter pit is on some of your service lines between the curb stop and the house which we are not responsible for. If you can keep the meter pit covered in snow is ideal for frost prevention. If you know where your service line is don’t drive over it as this pushes the frost even deeper. If you have had freeze up problems in the past it is suggested that you keep running your water until the county lifts the frost law, which means the frost is out of the ground. Thank you!!

Don't let the sunshine and warmth fool you! As we get closer to spring the frost keeps going deeper so it is important to keep your water running if you have been. Typically right around Valentine's Day is worst for frost getting into customers water lines. The meter pit is on their service lines between the curb stop and the house which we are not responsible for. The days now have the temperatures varying up & down which makes it even more important. If you know where your service line is don’t drive over it as this pushes the frost even deeper. The sunshine also pushes the frost deeper into the ground so please don't let the warmth fool you as spring quickly approaches. If you have had freeze up problems in the past it is suggested that you keep running your water until the county lifts the frost law, which means the frost is out of the ground.
