Metz Music Makes History!
Congratulations to the students and music educators at Grace E. Metz Middle School for an outstanding performance at this year's Music in the Parks competition at Kings Dominion. For the first time in school history, Metz earned top honors in chorus, band, and orchestra. The Chorus received Superior ratings from both judges, placed 1st in the Women's Choir division, and was named the top middle school choir of the day. The ensemble also earned the highest overall score of the competition across all middle and high school bands, choirs, and orchestras.

The Advanced Band received Superior ratings, placed 1st in its division, and was recognized as the top middle school band of the day, while the Intermediate Band also earned a 1st-place finish.

The Orchestra received Superior ratings, placed 1st in the String Orchestra division, and was named the top middle school orchestra of the day.

These remarkable achievements reflect the talent, dedication, and hard work of our students and music educators. Congratulations, Metz, on this historic accomplishment!

Students and staff battled it out on the court, bringing the excitement, laughs, and unforgettable moments. We welcomed back our Osbourn High School seniors for the annual Senior Walk! Our Mustangs lined the halls, cheered them on, and celebrated all they’ve accomplished. Seeing our former students return in their caps and gowns is always a powerful reminder that hard work, perseverance, and Mustang PRIDE lead to amazing things.

Huge shoutout to our 1B Interdisciplinary Research class, led by our incredibfor completing their community service project this morning! Students donated an incredible 46 bags of essentials for teens in foster care.

We were honored to welcome Oswald Graham from ShineForth to Metz Middle School to personally collect the bags and thank students for their dedication and hard work.

Their project, β€œPack It Forward,” was 100% student-created and student-led, giving students a firsthand experience of what it truly means to give back to the community. We are so proud of their leadership, compassion, and Mustang pride! Huge shout out to Ms. Lewis who led our students with passion and pride!
