South Wall Fire Rescue Covering a 13 square mile area, our state certified firefighters provide fire suppression as well as land and water rescues whenever necessary. to the North.

Established in 1946, our company is the 3rd fire district within the Township of Wall. Other companies include district 1 West Belmar Fire Co. to the East and district 2 Glendola Fire Co. In addition to serving Wall Township, our firefighters provide mutual aid to surrounding towns including, Sea Girt, Manasquan, Brielle, Howell and Point Pleasant. Mutual aid agreements between neighboring towns e

nsure that residents are supported by the manpower and equipment necessary in the event of an emergency. Additionally, South Wall Fire Rescue is frequently called into action as a Rapid Intervention Team “RIT” to rescue a downed firefighter should the need arise. South Wall Fire Rescue boasts a healthy membership of approximately 40 active firefighters responding to an average of 370 calls per year. Our members are dedicated to maintaining the highest level of skills within fire suppression, heavy rescue and extrication as well search and rescue by land or water. The Department trains regularly and members spend collectively hundreds of hours a year honing their skills. Additionally many members continuously supplement their training through local County Fire Academies and Universities. Our membership is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of 2 station houses and 8 fire apparatus as well as the equipment within each rig.

Dist 3 Rescue Box overturned for a tandem axle dump truck with one reported entrapment. Prior to arrival the single occupant/driver was able to self extricate himself. Incident occurred on Hospital Rd closing the road for approximately 1.5 hours. Crews stood by while uprighted and removed debris from the roadway.

Early morning District 3 Box, all three districts responded to a reported smoke condition in a residence. Crews arrived finding a fire in the garage of the residence and quickly extinguished same holding it at its point of origin. RIT provided by Point Beach . Upon completion District 3 responded mutual aid RIT assignment into Howell Twp . Job well done by all involved for an early morning start for the day!

Started the day with a joint drill with Asbury Park FD in a excavation hole over 90 ft deep. Later in the day a Rescue Box for D3/2. Closer for the day was a Township wide Box for a structure in District 1. Busy day training & working. Awesome job by all involved!

Mutual Aid Responses – Long Branch & Point Pleasant Beach

April 2, 2026 – Long Branch
Engine 3 crews operated on scene, assisting with fire suppression operations. Crews performed two trench cuts to help contain and control the incident.

April 3, 2026 – Point Pleasant Beach
Engine 3 and Rescue 3 responded into Point Pleasant Beach for a working commercial boat fire. Crews assisted with the initial fire attack and also established and operated as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) during the incident.
