The K-5 art show is a true showcase of our elementary students' creativity. Art teachers Dara Goodman and Trisha Appel spend the year instructing students on artists and their techniques, while tying into the core curriculum when they can.

On a walk through the interactive, three-day display, you'll see our kindergarteners' take on abstract art like Piet Mondrian; or our 3rd graders mimic Harald Moltke's paintings of the northern lights; or 5th graders' still life paintings in the style of Paul Cezanne; and of course, this year's show had to feature after her visit in March.

Students, families, teachers and administrators enjoyed coloring on the murals taped to the walls, completing the artwork scavenger hunt, or even just pointing out their own projects on display.

We are so appreciative of the hard work it takes to organize a show that displays art from every elementary student. Thank you to Dara and Trisha for continuing this celebration of our students.

Thank you for your continued support of our schools!

Tomorrow, Rye Neck community members will vote on the proposed 2026–2027 school budget and Board of Education trustee election.

Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the MS/HS Community Room.

The proposed, tax-cap compliant budget totals $53,812,226. The budget is designed to preserve and enhance student programming; address rising operational costs; invest in student support and district infrastructure; and maintain fiscal responsibility while minimizing taxpayer impact.

Voters will also elect three members to the Board of Education:
• Two seats for full 3-year terms
• One seat for a one-year term (May 19, 2026 - June 30, 2027) to fill the vacancy from Trustee Nikki Barker.

Voters may vote for up to three candidates; and the results will determine not only who is elected, but also which term length each elected candidate receives.

Your vote matters. Thank you for supporting Rye Neck Schools and our community!
