Measles cases have been confirmed in Pennsylvania, and it can be especially bad for babies and young children, pregnant women, and people with weak immune systems.

Measles is highly contagious. It spreads throughout the air when people sick with measles cough, sneeze, or talk. It can remain suspended in the air for 2 hours even after the sick person has left the room.

The measles vaccine is safe and the strongest protection against measles virus. The vaccine is widely available throughout Chester County at your doctor’s office, pharmacies and through the Chester County Health Department
