Entergy Arkansas is notifying paddlers, outfitters, and recreational users of the Ouachita River that full-generation recreational flows from Remmel Dam, along with all scheduled special releases, will resume effective immediately.

Recent rainfall and improved watershed conditions have restored lake levels and inflows, allowing Entergy Arkansas, in coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and partner agencies, to conclude its FERC-approved Drought Contingency Plan. With recovery thresholds met, drought conservation measures are no longer necessary.

What this means for river users:

• Full-generation recreational flows on weekends (typically Memorial Day through Labor Day) have returned to normal

• Special whitewater and training release scheduling will resume

• Standard scheduling will continue unless conditions change

We recognize the importance of these releases to paddlers and local recreation groups and appreciate your patience during the drought-response period.

Updates will continue to be shared through our regular communication channels.

Entergy Arkansas is notifying paddlers, outfitters, and recreational users of the Ouachita River that full-generation flows from Remmel Dam for recreation, along with all scheduled special releases, are postponed until further notice.

Due to ongoing severe to extreme drought conditions, Entergy Arkansas—working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and partner agencies—is implementing its FERC-approved Drought Contingency Plan. Current water levels, including Lake Ouachita, require increased conservation to support reservoir recovery and protect long-term river and lake resources.

What this means for river users:

• No full-generation recreational flows on weekends (typically scheduled Memorial Day through Labor Day)
• All special whitewater and training releases are on hold
• Normal scheduling will resume once drought conditions improve to moderate levels or water levels recover

We recognize how important these releases are to paddlers and local recreation groups and appreciate your patience as we work to protect critical water resources.

Updates will be shared as conditions improve.
