🇺🇸 25 Years Later, We Remember. 🇺🇸

Today, Malvern Fire Department joins communities across our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we honor the 343 firefighters and 72 law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, along with the thousands of innocent lives lost that day.

We remember their courage, their service, and the families and communities forever changed by their loss. We also recognize the first responders who answered the call, many of whom continue to face the lasting effects of that day.

As firefighters, we understand the meaning of duty, sacrifice, and standing together when others need help. The legacy of September 11 reminds us to serve with Honor, Pride, and Integrity—and to never forget those who gave everything.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the Malvern Fire Department! 🇺🇸

Today, we proudly celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th year of freedom. For 250 years, our nation has stood on the principles of liberty, courage, and service. As we honor those who fought for our independence and those who continue to protect our freedoms, we hope everyone enjoys this historic celebration with family and friends.

As you celebrate, please make safety a priority:

🎆 Fireworks Safety Tips
• Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.
• Never allow young children to handle or ignite fireworks.
• Light only one firework at a time and move away quickly.
• Never attempt to relight a firework that fails to ignite.
• Soak used fireworks in water before placing them in the trash.
• Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The safest way to enjoy fireworks is by attending a professional public display whenever possible.

The men and women of the Malvern Fire Department will be on duty throughout the holiday, ready to respond whenever needed. We hope you have a safe, memorable, and enjoyable Fourth of July as we celebrate 250 years of American freedom.

Today, the Malvern Fire Department proudly joins communities across our nation in celebrating Flag Day, honoring the adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777.

The American flag represents the freedom, sacrifice, and unity that have defined our nation for generations. It serves as a reminder of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country, as well as those who work every day to protect our communities.

As firefighters, we are honored to serve under the Stars and Stripes and remain committed to the values it represents: courage, integrity, service, and dedication to others.

Take a moment today to proudly display your flag and reflect on the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy as Americans.

June is National PTSD Awareness Month, a time to recognize that Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event.

For first responders, military personnel, healthcare workers, and members of our community, the impacts of trauma can last long after an emergency has ended. PTSD is not a sign of weakness—it is a real medical condition that deserves understanding, support, and treatment.

The members of the Malvern Fire Department see firsthand how traumatic events can affect individuals, families, and emergency responders. This month, we encourage everyone to learn the signs of PTSD, check on friends and loved ones, and remember that seeking help is a sign of strength.

Common signs may include:
• Intrusive memories or flashbacks
• Difficulty sleeping or nightmares
• Anxiety, depression, or irritability
• Avoiding reminders of a traumatic event
• Feeling constantly on edge or hypervigilant

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Talking with a trusted friend, family member, healthcare provider, or mental health professional can be the first step toward recovery.

Together, we can help break the stigma surrounding mental health and ensure that no one faces PTSD alone.
