🚑 Join Us for Our EMS BBQ Fundraiser! 🚑

The Phillips County Ambulance Association invites the community to join us for our annual EMS BBQ Fundraiser on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Malta Event Center beginning at 11:00 AM.

This event is a free will donation, and every dollar raised goes directly back into the ambulance service; supporting our members, improving our agency, maintaining equipment and training, and helping us continue providing emergency medical care to our community when it matters most.

EMS is built on community support, and we are proud to serve the people of Phillips County and the surrounding area every day. Whether you stop by for lunch, visit with our crews, or simply show your support, we truly appreciate every person who helps make our mission possible.

Come enjoy great food, support local EMS, and help us continue serving our community with pride.

We hope to see you there! 💙🚑

This week, we celebrate the men and women of EMS, the people who answer the call no matter the hour, the weather, the danger, or the outcome.

EMS is more than flashing lights and sirens. It’s missed holidays, interrupted meals, sleepless nights, difficult scenes, heartbreaking losses, and carrying memories that never fully leave. It’s making critical decisions in seconds while offering compassion in someone’s worst moment.

But despite the challenges, EMS professionals continue to show up. Every shift. Every call. Every patient.

The 2026 EMS Week theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” reminds us that no one in emergency care stands alone. EMS works side-by-side with dispatchers, nurses, physicians, firefighters, law enforcement, air medical crews, and our communities to make a difference when it matters most. Together, we save lives. Together, we comfort families. Together, we carry the weight of this profession.

To every trained driver, EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, dispatcher, first responder, educator, and support staff member; thank you for your sacrifice, resilience, professionalism, and heart.

Your work matters.
Your dedication matters.
And this community is stronger because of you.

Happy EMS Week 2026. 🚑💙

🚑 Community Safety Notice – Power Outages & Cold Weather ❄️

Due to high winds, many areas are experiencing power outages, and temperatures are expected to drop below freezing. Our ambulance service wants to remind everyone to take extra precautions to stay safe during this time.

Important tips during a cold-weather power outage:

• Stay warm: Use blankets and warm clothing. If using alternative heat sources, ensure they are properly ventilated.
• Never use generators, grills, or propane heaters indoors or in garages—this can cause deadly carbon monoxide exposure.
• Check on neighbors, especially older adults or those with medical needs.
• Keep cell phones charged when possible and conserve battery power.
• Avoid candles if possible—use flashlights instead to reduce fire risk.

⚠️ For those who rely on electricity for medical needs (home oxygen, CPAP, ventilators, powered medical equipment):
• Have backup power plans if available.
• Ensure oxygen tanks are secured and accessible if using portable oxygen.
• If you begin to feel unsafe, short of breath, excessively cold, or your medical equipment cannot function safely—call 911.

🚑 We are here if you need us. Please do not hesitate to call 911 for medical emergencies.

Stay safe, stay warm, and look out for one another.
