We've received an additional $1.2 million in funding to bring our Vacant Rental Program to St. Lawrence County in 2025 and still have funds available for properties in Franklin County!

Property owners in Franklin & St. Lawrence Counties are encouraged to apply for grants of $50-$75,000 per vacant unit to be renovated. Properties constructed after 1980 will be prioritized for funding.

It's that time of year again! The FCCHC is once again coordinating the local Red Kettle Drive for the Salvation Army! All money raised in local kettles gets redistributed to our local community to help individuals in need. For more information, email [email protected] or call 518-483-5934!

Church groups, volunteer organizations, and human service organizations are all welcome to coordinate volunteer time!

In January we received a $1.2 million grant to rehabilitate vacant rental units across Franklin County through NYS's Vacant Rental Program. As our first projects go out to bid, we're looking for additional contractors capable of rehabbing vacant units in Malone, Brushton, Tupper Lake, and Chateaugay. Eligible property owners can receive $50-75k per unit to renovate vacant and uninhabitable rental units, or to create rental units in vacant commercial space. FCCHC Housing Director, Julie Karpp, and Executive Director, Nathan Cox, were thrilled to spend some time at the Adirondack Foundation last month learning about the various housing initiatives underway throughout the North Country. While there is a lot of work to do in this area, these folks are dedicated to getting that work done!

Last week, Adirondack Foundation brought together regional organizations working to tackle the housing shortage. Together, they're making progress towards creating 400+ new or renovated year-round homes!
